Microsoft sends a couple of Lumias to the North Pole

Polar explorer Eric Larsen is attempting to break the Arctic expedition speed record by covering the 500 mile distance from the Northern Ellesmere Island to the North Pole in less than 49 days.

Nokia Lumia 1520 tops Basemark X charts, beating Galaxy S5

The new wave of Android flagships comes with a revamped version of Qualcomm’s top chipset, but surprisingly it’s the Nokia Lumia 1520 with the vanilla Snapdragon 800 that topped the charts of the Basemark X test.

Microsoft updates Skype for Windows Phone with minor improvements

Microsoft has issued an update for Skype on Windows Phone bringing the app to version 2.16.0.266. Available in the Windows Phone Store, the new Skype version fixes bugs and introduces slight improvements in the sign up/sign in process for users.

Now, first-time Skype users will have no choice but to register with the same Microsoft account that they’re currently using on their phone. Anther minor improvement is the introduction of the typing indicator icon whenever someone is writing you. Read more »
