Yeah, the BlackBerry PlayBook can run Android apps, big deal – can it run DOS apps though? The answer is yes, yes it can – Prince of Persia, Wolfenstein 3D, Lion King and even Windows 3.11 all run on the PlayBook thanks to the efforts of self professed (ab)users over at the CrackBerry forums.
Running DOS on a device is like asking “Will it blend?” – it seems like a pointless ordeal but curiosity gets the best of you and you watch the video. Come after the jump, you know you want to look. Read more »
Apple was granted a pretty stiff location-services patent that was retrieved from Xerox about two years ago. Originally Xerox filed for it in 1998 and had received it in the year 2000. The patent is quite broad in its terms so this could mean trouble for Android and company.
The patent refers to any system that is location-based, that needs to transmit a location to a network and receive information back. Read more »
You know that we are really into nicely shot video ads and super cool smartphones. And we struck gold on both counts with that clip we just stumbled upon.

We have shown you a video before of our Earth taken from the International Space Station. And today we are back again with another one. Although the subject of the last video was quite stunning, the video itself came nowhere close to doing it justice. So this time we have a better one for you.
This is a time-lapse video taken by taken by Ron Garan, Satoshi Furukawa and the crew of expeditions 28 & 29 on board the International Space Station. This video is a lot longer and covers a greater portion of the planet from various angles. We also get a stunning view of the Northern Lights and the storms in the clouds as the space station moves above the surface of the Earth. Read more »
Let’s face it – most mobile phone advertisements are pretty mediocre and don’t have much imagination thrown into them. Not the case with Motorola and their ads for the RAZR.
Ever since their first TV spot hinting about the upcoming ‘faster’ product on October 18 was released, they’ve been on a roll with their more recent ads. Read more »

The Finnish company had a pretty interesting prototype to show us at the start of the second day of Nokia World 2011. It looks like the mobile industry gets more and more into working and investing on innovations to protect your phone from the elements. Recently, with the announcement of the Motorola RAZR, the company proudly boasted the RAZR’s specially developed SplashGuard coating, which protects the internals of the device from accidental water splashes.
Now it’s Nokia’s Research Center turn to laugh at the face of this pathetic technology with their latest piece of innovation. They have created an amazing hydrophobic coating for phones which could change the way we use them. Read more »
