This “Moto 360: Why a Watch” video doesn’t say when, but it’s nice to watch anyhow

by 34 comments

Motorola’s latest promo video for the Moto 360 smartwatch is meant to explain why this new smart device has taken the form of a watch (rather than perhaps a smart microwave oven). The answer comes from the Product Lead for the Moto 360 Lior Ron and his belief that the watch was the most personal piece of technology and a self-expression on a wrist.

The video also addresses the round shape as magical, super comfortable and allowing for a larger display. What it doesn’t address is when eager users will be able to get their hands on one or better yet one on their wrists. Read more »

Samsung Gear Fit review

by 79 comments

After our meeting with the Samsung Gear Fit at the Mobile World Congress, we were left wanting for more so when we got it at the office we spent a lot of time with the device on wrist to test its many fitness and smartphone companion features in full.

The Samsung Gear Fit is the third smartwatch to come out of this year’s Gear generation but isn’t quite as functional as the Gear 2 and Neo. It it is closer to the fitness band market than to the fully functional smartwatches. For starters the Fit lacks a microphone and speaker so you won’t be able to take calls on it like you would on the other Gears. There’s no speaker too. What there is – a curved 1.84″ Super AMOLED screen that’s simply gorgeous and more intuitive to use. Read more »
