HTC considers coming up with its own proprietary OS, come on!

The birth of a new mobile operating system is better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick, but I’m not quite sure if that’s exactly what the industry needs right now. Still, according to Bloomberg, HTC are considering their options and they might just come up with an OS of their own.

I’m not quite sure if that has something to do with the rumored acquisition of Palm or not but the Taiwanese company might soon compete with its current partners from Microsoft and Google. While this will certainly reduce the HTC reliance to their partners but it will make the smartphone market an even greater mess.

Cheng Hui-ming, chief financial officer of HTC is quoted to have said, “We continue to assess, but that requires a few conditions to justify having our own system”. Boy, do I hope they reconsider and drop the idea.
