Specs of two 7″ Jelly Bean tablets by Asus leak, announcement might come at CES

by 27 comments

Asus seems to have two low-cost Android tablets in the works, carrying the model codes ME371MG and ME172V. Their specs were dug up by an Italian website and promise two 7″ tablets with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean at a low price. The duo should make an appearance at CES.

The lower-end tablet, the Asus ME172V, will have a 7″ screen with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels, built with TN tech rather than IPS (so viewing angles probably won’t be great). Read more »

by 106 comments

A couple of months back at the Build conference, Microsoft told its employees that each and every one of them would receive a free Lumia 920 smartphone, a Surface tablet and a Windows 8 PC. According to a spicy rumor, however, the Lumia 920 part of the giveaway might not happen just yet, as Nokia is struggling to keep up with the consumer demand for the device.

As a result, Microsoft Germany has halted the employee-intended Lumia 920s and returned them back to Nokia to help fulfill customers’ orders. Read more »

Next iPhone to have dual-LED, dual-color flash?

by 148 comments

The rumor mill wastes no time when it comes to “the next iPhone”. We received an anonymous tip that the next Apple smartphone (whether it’s the iPhone 6 or 5S) will have a dual-LED flash, but it’s going to be unlike any other dual-LED flash we’ve seen before. It’s going to have LEDs of two different colors.

The rumor came with no evidence (certainly no photos) but it’s seemingly too odd to be made up. Read more »

by 36 comments

We’ve been seeing a steady stream of leaks about the next crop of Sony Xperia Androids but this one is about a new model – the C3602 (since the last digit indicates the region, let’s just call it the C360X).

We’ve already seen the low-end C1 series (Xperia E and E Dual) and the high-end C6 series (Odin and Yuga with their 5″ 1080p screens), so this C360X should be our first look at the mid-range offerings. Read more »

by 33 comments

The LG Nexus 4 has to be one of the most-leaked phones in recent memory – the latest premature release comes from the official YouTube channel of Sweden’s carrier Three, who posted a quick hands-on with the upcoming Nexus (which was supposed to be announced today, maybe 3 Sweden didn’t get the memo about the cancellation). Update: It’s official, LG announced it even without the event.

The quick UI demo doesn’t really show much, but there are new notification area toggles which look quite interesting. They are not placed above the notifications as usual, but are instead a separate screen you can access by tapping a button. Read more »
