The Samsung Apps application store for Bada has just shot past the 100 million downloads mark. It took it about nine months, which means that four Bada apps have been downloaded every second.

At the very beginning, when Amazon opened its App Store for business, AT&T Android users were locked out of the fun. The reason behind this was that the US carrier considers the newly announced app store’s content as third party, thus unusable.

Today, 6 months after the first beta was released, Mozilla finally unveiled a release candidate version of Firefox 4 for Android and Maemo devices. This means that we are just a few weeks away from a final, perfectly stable version.

I bet every tablet-loving gadget fan has been anticipating this one from day one. Well, most of you, anyway. Ever since the first “What’s your tab life?” teaser hit the web, we have been waiting to see what this new Samsung tablet is all about.

Well now that we are only a few hours away from its official announcement we can confirm most of its key specs. Now the 8.9″ display is an obvious one for the Galaxy Tab, but the really great WXGA resolution (that’s 1280×800 pixels, in case you are wondering) comes as a nice bonus. The iPad 2 has finally settled in our office. Since the performance is the key feature on the new iPad we were curious how faster the iPad 2 is. The only way to see that is to put the first and second gen tablets head to head and see what happens.

We preloaded both iPads with absolutely the same content, enabled the multi-touch gestures, closed all active apps from the multi-tasking bar and started tapping some icons.

Apple announced the death to MobileMe as we knew it a few weeks ago and speculations about the future of the service haven’t stopped ever since. This latest rumor just came in and it says MobileMe is going to become free and get deep iOS integration.

Yesterday’s report by Blaze.io claimed that the Android Browser is on average 50% faster than the iOS browser. Now Apple have this to say to Blaze: “Nuh-Uh”. Blaze posted an update, saying they are looking into the issue Apple pointed out.

It turns out that the new iPad 2 can act as a SatNav unit, even without having a GPS receiver inside. All you need is an iPhone 4 with the latest iOS 4.3 and enabled hot-spot functionality.

Besides transmitting its data connection to the Wi-Fi-only iPad 2, the iPhone 4 new hotspot functionality can actually sends GPS information to its larger sibling as well. So in theory, if you’re not sure whether to get a Wi-Fi or 3G- Wi-Fi combo version of the iPad 2, this knocks one consideration from the list. Google has just updated their Mobile App for iOS devices. What was initially meant to be your one-click portal to all of Google services has now been downgraded to a mere Search app. By reducing its focus the Google dev team has managed to make the iOS Search app much nicer to use.

The improvements include a new toolbar that lets you filter your results. To toggle it on you can use one of the newly implemented swipe gestures (left or right) either before you search or once you’ve got your results. You can then select the required filter, like Images, Videos, Shopping etc.

Adobe has reported on a critical vulnerability in Flash Player, Reader and Acrobat applications. It’s interesting since it affects the desktop Flash Player along with the Android one and even the one embedded in Chrome.

For those of you who haven’t heard of Staples – it’s one of the biggest stores for office equipment in the world. And they seem to be awaiting new additions to their tablet line-up from Samsung, HTC, Dell, Acer, Toshiba and HP. All of them labeled as “Coming Soon”.

Back in January, Rovio and 20th Century Fox announced their partnership to bring an Angry Birds game, based on the 3D animation movie Rio. Today, though, Rovio made an unexpected announcement. The latest installment of the Angry Birds series is going to be exclusive to Amazon’s Android app store.

Today another interesting application makes its debut at Nokia Beta Labs. The app in question is called Shoot & Tag. It does its job while you’re shooting video, detecting changes or shifts in the background and the overall scene. Ultimately, it automatically creates a new scene or a chapter for each change.
