PSX4Droid is a PSOne emulator for Android that has been for sale in the Android Market for eight months now. It allows you to play various PlayStation One games on your Android smartphone. We already informed you it has been pulled for “Content Policy Violation”, just when the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play was about to roll out.
It seems Sony Ericsson has pulled some strings to get the emulator out of the Market. It was there for eight months on a $6 price. Was it in violation – it could be, but Google didn’t have any problem taking a share of its profit until now.
But “surprisingly” Google has changed its position and it not only banned from the Market but suspended the developer’s account too. Read more »
It seems like over a year already, since the Galaxy Tab hit the shelves. Well, actually it’s been 6 months, which is a long time in gadget terms. Now the Galaxy Tab has been confirmed to hit the US market in its Wi-Fi-only version, from 349.99 bucks. It will be available on 10 April.
This reincarnation of Samsung’s proto tablet has gained some extra RAM – 592MB, but lost the GPS functionality, the HSDPA connectivity, the 32GB and 64GB storage options and some 2000 mAh worth of battery. It’s now down to just 4000, instead of the 6000 the original had. And the available built-in memory is 16GB. But you can always expand it up to 32GB with a SD card. It’s also stuck at Android Froyo 2.2, which certainly is not the latest tablet UI available. Read more »
Opera just announced reaching 100 monthly million mobile users… again. But this time it’s all about the smallest Opera browser of the bunch, Opera Mini. The diminutive web browser also serves a gargantuan number of page views per day – as much as 2 billion.

Fring is preparing an update for its apps, which will add four-way group video calls. The service will work on iOS, Android and Symbian and best of all, it will allow for cross-platform video conferencing too.
Easter is coming and you know how RovioMobile, the developer of the blockbuster game Angry Birds rolls when a major holiday is just around the corner. Yes, an Easter update to Angry Birds Seasons is imminent and is coming later this month, as Rovio themselves tweeted recently.
The exact number of levels the update is going to include is not clear yet, but I personally expect around 15 levels worth of pig slaying. But that’s not all – the original Angry Birds and the latest Angry Birds Rio will also get updated. Read more »

It was just yesterday we saw a bunch of Windows 8 screenshots from the latest (Milestone 3) alpha release. Today we got something even better – a few shots from the tablet-oriented Immersive UI of Windows 8.

People are flocking in to download Angry Birds Rio – 10 million did in the first 10 days since the game launched (it was exclusive at the Amazon Appstore for a day). That’s an impressive number indeed.

The Facebook app for iOS (excluding the iPads) has been updated to version 3.4. It brings along the Map View for the Places section, a Check-in function for events and places and even a un-friend option straight from your device.

The Google Maps application for Android has just been updated to version 5.3. It now brings some previously computer-exclusive stuff like location history – or in other words, where you’ve been to and how much time you’ve spent there.
The Google Maps app is no longer just a digital map of the world. It’s now a mapping service – slash – SatNav app with the ability to check you in at home, work and all sorts of places. And it even lets you give reviews to places, add specific things you like about a place. And all this is posted to the virtual profile of the place for everyone (using Google Places) to see. It was just a few days ago when Google announced the +1 vote for the search results. Well now it is already available for testing, you just need to go to Google Labs and activate it.
The best part of the +1 idea is far away from the social scene though. Google will record every +1 vote to a specific website and will use that data to improve its search results.
Good news for those of you still waiting on the “NoDo” update for your Windows Phone 7 device. Chris Walsh, one of the creators of “ChevronWP7″ (the first Windows Phone homebrew) has taken apart the latest Windows Phone “Support Tools” that were released earlier today.
The tools are designed for troubleshooting failed updates and even have the ability to “unbrick” a device, but Chris uncovered that they also have the means to update any WP7 handset to any version of the software currently publicly available from Microsoft. This lets you update without having to wait for your carrier (great for WP7 users on AT&T as their February and March updates are still at the “testing” stages).
