For some reason, Samsung decided not to bring its Ativ S Windows Phone 8 flagship to the United States. Instead, the Korean giant released the Verizon Exclusive, LTE toting, and seriously pocketable Samsung Ativ Odyssey.

Motorola has posted a job listing in search for a senior director of product management to focus and work directly on the X Phone project that the WSJ reported on back in December.
Interestingly, that’s exactly how Motorola has referred to the project about its upcoming high-end smartphone set to rival the iPhone and the top dogs from the Galaxy S line-up. Read more »
Google Maps has gotten down and dirty in Arizona by mapping out over 75 miles of trails and roads in one of nature’s most impressive wonders.
The initiative is part of Google’s new Trekker program, which puts the famous 360-degree, 15-lens street view cameras in on a wearable backpack, allowing Google maps to give you up close and personal views of areas accessible only on foot. Read more »
Ah, the iPhone 5 jailbreak is an unfulfilled dream of many, but it’s still as elusive as ever (the iPad mini one, just as well). Or are they? An independent dev group, which calls itself the Evad3rs, claims to have a jailbreak solution almost ready for the masses – called Evasi0n – and it should launch this very Sunday.
Not only that, but the jailbreak should work on all iPhones, iPads and iPod Touches running anything from iOS 6.0 to the latest iOS 6.1, as famous iOS community hacker MuscleNerd has confirmed personally on Twitter. Read more »

The upcoming Sony Xperia Z is not only a beautiful phone, but it’s also pretty tough to break down. This has been confirmed by one of those always cool to watch torture videos, which shows the Xperia Z survive various trials to prove that it’s worthy of being your daily driver.

It’s pretty clear that 2013 is the year of the 5” 1080p phones and the Oppo Find 5, which just arrived at our office, is part of the zodiac. 2012 was the year of quad-core processors, especially the Snapdragon S4 Pro chips towards its end, and the Find 5 has that too.
It’s not a matter of choice – with nearly 2 million pixels on the screen, the chipset will have to offer a lot in terms of both CPU and GPU power to make for a smooth experience. The Project Butter-enabled Android 4.1 Jelly Bean also helps. Read more »
Following the rather modest success of the Tegra platform in the smartphone and tablet segment, it seems NVIDIA is now gunning for a bigger share of the pie, so far dominated by the likes of Qualcomm and Mediatek.
According to Eldar Murtazin of Mobile-review.com, NVIDIA is planning on manufacturing smartphones and tablets of its own and will be selling them to companies to be rebranded and sold under their brand. Read more »
Now that our review of the Nokia Lumia 510 is over, we are ready to share the details on the smartphone’s battery test. It’s the first smartphone to run on Windows Phone 7.8 and is probably the one with least powerful hardware, so we were interested how it would do.
The Lumia 510 shares many specs with the Lumia 610 we met with last summer, but comes with a 0.3-inch bigger display (that’s a more space to light up) and 4GB less of storage. Read more »
Samsung’s mobile division is all about filling the market voids and creating unique niches (like the Galaxy Note). The latest device to come out of the Koreans is a 5-inch, extra cheap dual-SIM droid with a dual-core CPU.
It looks like RIM is all set to compete against the smartphone top dogs with its upcoming BlackBerry 10 OS. A recent video comparison suggests that BlackBerry Z10 is perfectly capable of matching the performance of the Apple iPhone 5.
