HTC Butterfly lands in our office, check it out before the review ninjas take it away

The HTC device which made a big name for itself by being the first with a 5″ 1080p screen from a major manufacturer has finally arrived in our office.

Check out all the HTC One teaser clips in one video

HTC has been releasing teaser clips on its official website for some time now that show bits and pieces of the upcoming HTC One, also known as the HTC M7.

The HTC Butterfly and the Sony Xperia Z are the among the several 5″ 1080p 2013 flagships that promise to change your definition of sharpness forever.

And while our review squad has already been dispatched to take the two beasts through their paces, we thought we might give you a few shots in advance to feast your eyes on. Sony Xperia Z first battery test comes out pretty decent

The Sony Xperia Z, which has just been made available in Japan, has undergone a quick battery test in the hands of the Russian Hi-Tech Mail news portal and the results from it aren’t all that bad.

The battery of Sony’s Android flagship has been put through its paces using the AnTuTu Tester app and has outperformed the likes of the HTC Incredible S and the Samsung Galaxy S II. That’s a good start. Read more »

New Nexus 4 ad shows off the Google Now feature

Google has been releasing some great ads for its products in the past couple of years. The ads for the Nexus devices in particular have been very good.

LG’s MWC 2013 trailer promises unlimited possibilities at the end of this month

LG released its trailer for Mobile World Congress 2013. The short clip mixes several key words such as “stylish”, “premium”, “creative”, “speedy”, “powerful”, as well as “professional”, and ends with the promise of “unlimited possibilities” at the end of this month.

The BlackBerry Z10 represents a major step forward for the company (formerly RIM, now just BlackBerry). We put it in front of our camera almost as soon as we pried it out of its box. We couldn’t help it but share with you the first glimpse of how well a touch-only BlackBerry of the new generation will handle, considering the unflattering response that the Storm and the Torch got.

One thing is immediately clear – the BlackBerry Z10 is far removed from the Storm, both in terms of hardware and in software. Read more »

ARM Q4 profits exceed analyst predictions

British-based chip designer ARM posted a pre-tax profit of roughly $125.9 million, up 16% in the fourth quarter.

The popular ARM Cortex series of processors can be found in the vast majority of mobile devices and tablets out there, which explains the higher than expected quarterly profit. Read more »

New game title Temple Run: Oz the Great and Powerful releasing on February 27

Temple Run is already a smash hit on both iOS and Android, and it’s only been two weeks since it was released. Following in the footsteps of Temple Run: Brave, the new game will reportedly revolve around the story and the characters from the upcoming movie Oz the Great and Powerful.

The movie is due for March 8, but the game will be available even before that – with February 27 thought to be the launch date. Read more »

Sony announces ‘my Xperia’ service for finding your lost Xperia device

Sony has announced a new service for their range of Xperia smartphones, called my Xperia. The beta version of the service will roll out to a few devices initially before it is available to all Xperia devices out there.

my Xperia works similar to Apple’s Find My iPhone and all other similar services out there. Once it’s available on your device, you log on to the service by visiting myxperia.sonymobile.com and logging in with your Google account. Read more »
