When Microsoft and Remedy announced Alan Wake back in 2005, it was meant to be released both on the PC as well as the Xbox 360. The game wowed everyone with its visuals, which were to use the then-upcoming DirectX 10 technology from Microsoft. Unfortunately, the PC version of the game was canned with no word on future availability and it has been available exclusively on the Xbox 360 so far.

Now suddenly, almost two years after the game released on the Xbox, Remedy has announced the PC version of the game, which will be releasing in February. This is going to be the definitive version of the game, with improved higher resolution graphics (the screenshot above is in-game), support for keyboard/mouse/Xbox controller, stereoscopic 3D, and will come bundled with the two DLCs, ‘The Signal’ and ‘The Writer’. Angry Birds Seasons The Year of the Dragon update is here at last and it starts off as an iOS exclusive.

Users get 15 new levels filled with lanterns, fireworks, Chinese knots, the lot. The Mighty Eagle add-on is transformed into the (wait for it) Mighty Dragon and is free on iOS, Android and Symbian^3 (ordinarily it costs around $0.99). Read more »

The words ‘affordable’ and ‘Alienware’ don’t usually go together but with the new Alienware X51, Dell intends to change that. It is the smallest Alienware desktop gaming system so far and also the cheapest. But despite the starting price of ‘just’ $699, the new Alienware X51 packs in decent hardware.

We finally got to spend some quality time with the Sony PlayStation Vita, the successor of the PlayStation Portable and what a successor it is. Sony said that the Vita is going to revolutionize the way people play games on the go and after our hands-on with the portable console we are starting to suspect they may be right.

Razer piqued our interest a few days ago when they talked about the Project Fiona, promising a “PC gaming on an all-new form factor”. Little did we know it was going to be a tablet with controllers attached to it.

Razer’s Project Fiona is essentially that, a tablet with two PlayStation Move like controllers on the side. The controllers are fixed and so even when you’re not gaming you will still have them around. Each of the controller has a joystick on it with four buttons on the front and two shoulder buttons. We had some fun testing Gametel’s Portable Games Controller last month and were impressed with its performance, offering Android devices far better gaming prospects than with touchscreen only controls (Xperia PLAY aside).

The Angry Birds game is among the most popular, if not the most popular, games in the smartphone gaming atmosphere. It’s available on iOS, Android, WebOS, Symbian, PC and now Bada OS.

The addition has been made today and the game is free to download on Wave S8600 3.That’s the only Bada phone currently supported but the requirement is to have Bada 2.0 preinstalled so we guess that other Wave devices will follow suit. Read more »
