Apple showed off the new Mac Pro at the WWDC 2013 floor. This is the first update in quite some time and comes in with a lot of oomph under the hood.
It features the new Thunderbolt 2 port (6 of them), new dual GPUs built by AMD, next-gen Intel XEON processors and is one-eighth of the size of the previous-gen Mac Pro. It will debut this fall with the pricing still to be confirmed. Read more »
The recently-announced Asus PQ321 4K monitor raised a few eyebrows at the Computex 2013 showroom last week, being one of the first consumer available panels which support 4K resolution.

According to a report filed by market information provider iSupply, Samsung is breathing down Intel’s neck in the semiconductor market race in the first quarter of 2013 with 10.5% market share. Intel controls 15.1% if the chip market.
For the January-March period, Samsung’s recorded $7.77 billion in sales, while Intel sales totalled $11.16 billion. Read more »
ASUS has officially announced its Transformer Book Trio at the on-going Computex 2013. The ASUS Transformer Book Trio is a three-in-one mobile device, which dual-boots Windows 8 and Android and aims to give you a netbook, a tablet and a Windows 8 desktop PC in one device.
The Transformer Book Trio sports an 11.6-inch detachable display and the PC Station dock has an Intel Core i7 processor, keyboard and a 750 GB hard drive. The tablet display can be detached and the main part can be hooked to an external display to use as a desktop PC. Read more »
NVIDIA announced its newest GeForce GTX 770 GPU, which is the slightly more affordable version of the GTX 780 we saw last week.
The GeForce GTX 770 is based on the NVIDIA Kepler architecture for superior gaming performance. It features 1,536 cores and either 4GB or 2GB of high speed 7 Gbps GDDR5 RAM. Read more »
Quite frankly, when Google took the wraps off the $1,299 Chromebook Pixel, just about everyone got caught by surprise. After all, the newcomer costs over six times more than the cheapest Chromebook on offer, and thus goes completely against the notion that notebooks running Google’s OS embodies cheap computing.

Intel, the world’s largest chipset-makers will be introducing its highly anticipated fourth generation Core processors at the Computex technology show in Taiwan, which kicks off on June 4.
Intel is said to have started shipping its latest processors to manufacturers and one can expect the latest laptops, PCs and Ultrabooks to feature the “Haswell” chipsets soon enough. Read more »
Samsung, among the world leaders in memory tech, will begin mass-producing 128Gb 3-bit multi-level-cell NAND Flash memory using a 10nm class process.
These new 128Gb NAND memory sticks will be used in SSDs and will be based on the toggle DDR 2.0 interface, boasting 400 Mbps per-second data transfer. Read more »
Logitech, the global computer accessories provider, has had a tough time in the market and company is looking to turn the tables around and have its glory days back. The company was reported to take some decisive action to turn its fortunes around and we are seeing the first steps in a new direction.

Samsung Display and LG Display are two of the most sought-after screen manufacturers in the industry and those two giants but have been involved in court-room disputes over display patents for a long time now.

NVIDIA has officially unveiled its GTX Titan, a powerful graphic card, which has the ability to power the world’s first gaming supercomputers and comes with 2,688 CUDA cores, 6 GB of GDDR5 RAM and 7.1 billion transistors. The 10.5″ powerhouse also has the ability to push 4,500 gigaflops of raw power.
The latest graphic card from the American company was in action, bootstrapped to two others running together and the GTX Titan powered the graphics from the Crysis 3, which was running at 5760×1080 pixel resolution across three monitors. Read more »
AMD clearly hasn’t had the best of times recently and the company has ended Q4 rather poorly, with the company reporting a net loss of $473 million. AMD has managed to generate revenue of $1.16 billion for the fourth quarter, which is still a 9% decline sequentially and 32% year-over-year.
AMD’s operating loss has been reported at $422 million and the company has lost about $0.63 per share. Read more »
Intel has posted its latest quarterly figures, showing a revenue of $13.5 billion, and a profit of $2.5 billion.
While both quarterly and annual figures are down compared to 2011, Intel has seen good growth in some key areas, particularly data center operations. Read more »
AMD used the press day before the start of CES to announce its latest Radeon 8000 series of desktop and mobile graphics.
Based on AMD’s Graphics Core Next architecture, all cards are built using the 28nm manufacturing process and come with support for Direct X 11.1 graphics. Read more »
