You all know, flagship smartphones aren’t just expensive silicon nowadays and all the bells and whistles of this or that platform. No, style is very much involved – these phones cost a pretty penny and are made to impress. They come duly accessorized as manufacturers try to maximize their appeal and, in most cases, that goes well beyond the fashion statement.

Samsung has published two new videos advertising the recently released Galaxy Tab S flagship slates. The first one demonstrates the Tab S multi-tasking capabilities and compares them to…an iPad, of course.

It’s a bit painful to open an app on your Android Wear powered smartwatch as you will have to either launch the application by shouting its name out, or by scrolling all the way to the bottom of the options list.

We threw the new Samsung Galaxy S5 mini into the pit of ravenous Android minis and they were not kind to it. The previous mini battle saw the HTC One mini 2 win a decisive victory over the Galaxy S4 mini and while Samsung’s latest flagship mini put up more of a fight it just wasn’t enough.

LG has announced that two of the three tablets that make up its mid-range roster have gone on sale in the US today. They are the G Pad 7.0 and the G Pad 10.1.
Intriguingly, there was no mention of the G Pad 8.0 in LG’s press release, which may mean that particular model won’t officially be headed to the US. Or it could simply come later. Read more »

Motorola’s latest promo video for the Moto 360 smartwatch is meant to explain why this new smart device has taken the form of a watch (rather than perhaps a smart microwave oven). The answer comes from the Product Lead for the Moto 360 Lior Ron and his belief that the watch was the most personal piece of technology and a self-expression on a wrist.
The video also addresses the round shape as magical, super comfortable and allowing for a larger display. What it doesn’t address is when eager users will be able to get their hands on one or better yet one on their wrists. Read more »
Have you ever had this happen – during the initial setup of an Android device, you tap the restore option and the OS starts reinstalling all sorts of apps you had on your old devices, including many you don’t need? Google might be working on a more intelligent restore option that will allow you to select a backup from a specific device to be restored.
This will make the restore process much easier to deal with for those that have more than one Android device. Read more »
Google has flipped the switch on the screencasting feature in Android KitKat devices, which means a select few handsets running this OS (4.4.1 and above) will now see the Screencast option available in the expanded notifications screen as well as Display options in the Settings app.
When Adidas announced that it would be making it’s own fitness tracking wearable, everyone assumed that it would be a device that would rival Nike’s FuelBand.
However, Adidas Director of Product Creation, Simon Drabble says that the Fit Smart is more for training and fitness, and is not a lifestyle tracker, as the FuelBand is. Read more »
Verizon has just announced that it’s going to be exclusively selling the Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet starting on July 17. It will go up for pre-order tomorrow.
