Square Enix has finally ported its game – Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light – on to Android. We reported that this game is coming to Android way back in September last year, when it was supposed to arrive in November but it took nearly a year to get released. Meanwhile, the iOS version has been selling since last year and even the PlayBook got it in April.
Like we said back then, this version of the game will be exclusive to the Xperia series of devices for a limited time. Also, not all Xperia devices but just the Xperia S, Xperia ion and the Xperia PLAY. Every other device will simply show up as incompatible on the game page. Read more »

Nexus 7 users trying to install Instagram on their shiny new tablets would until now have gotten an unsupported device message. Lucky for them, they don’t have to wait for long as Instagram has already issued an update that adds support for Google’s newest tablet.
Although one might wonder why would anyone need Instagram on a tablet that doesn’t even have a rear camera, it would at least allow you to check photos uploaded by others on that 720p IPS display. And you can always take a picture with the front camera if you ever wanted to. Read more »
Microsoft has announced the newest version of their office suite of application, Office 2013, or as they call it, the new Office. The new Office comes with a host of new improvements, including changes to the UI as well as under the hood.
The most noticeable change is the new set of icons for all the apps within the suite. Just like the Windows 8 icon, Office icons feature a monochrome icon with a tilted perspective. The user interface of the applications has also been slightly modified to fit into the new Metro UI on Windows 8. However, the application isn’t designed entirely with the Metro UI because at the end of the day it will be running within the desktop mode in Windows 8. Read more »
Carbon is a Twitter app for Android that has been in the works for quite some time now. It’s counterpart for Windows Phone was also released back in February. Now although some may blame the fact that the app is still not out yet despite being teased for months now on the slow development, the fact is that the developers were actually waiting for Google to allow them to submit paid apps in UAE, which is currently not possible.
Unfortunately, that did not happen so now instead of waiting any longer the developers have decided to go ahead and release the app on the Play Store for free on July 22. Read more »

You also have extra objects available at your disposal that you can place at various points on the screen. The goal of the game is to use all of these objects to set off a chain reaction and move certain objects to a designated position. Read more »

Google has a tradition of doing unboxing videos of each of their Nexus devices. The videos aren’t made by Google themselves, merely sponsored, with Patrick Boivin being the real mastermind behind them.
In each of these videos the theme has been a bunch of toy ninjas unboxing the phone, shot in stop motion animation. But for this video, Boivin managed to rope in GSP, the mixed martial artist and the current Welterweight Champion of the UFC, Georges St-Pierre, who takes part as Dr. Paul. Read more »

The Kindle Fire has been quite a success thanks to its humble pricing and the might of Amazon’s online store, which puts the tablet front and center on the homepage of the world’s most popular online store. But it’s been seven months now since it’s been on sale and by now Amazon should be working on a successor. The fact that Google just launched a rival in the form of the Nexus 7 and that Apple might be working on one as well means that Amazon cannot afford to rest on its laurels.
Fortunately, it hasn’t. According to a report by AllThingsD, Amazon is planning to release the successor to the current Kindle Fire some time in Q3, this year with the announcement coming some time in the second half of this year. Read more »
