We are still quite a way from the launch of BlackBerry 10 devices but recently RIM CEO Thorsten Heins was spotted with one of them in public.
At a Lakers game a few days ago, both Thorsten Heins and RIM Senior Vice President, Software Product Management Andrew Bocking were spotted using BB10 phones and taking pictures with them. You can see that the phone Heins is using has the usual BlackBerry sticker on the back that they reserve for test devices but it’s strange seeing the CEO of the company in public using devices that are yet to be announced publicly. Firefox for Android has so far been exclusive to device running on ARMv7 processors but this limited it to mostly recent, high-end device. However, with the latest update, Mozilla has expanded the number of devices that can now support Firefox.
Firefox for Android can now be installed on devices with ARMv6 processors, which includes phones such as HTC Status, HTC ChaCha, Samsung Galaxy Ace, Motorola Fire XT and LG Optimus Q. Considering almost half of the 500 million Android devices out there are running on ARMv6 processors, this means a vast number of people can now install Firefox on their Android smartphones. Nintendo recently launched their next generation game console called the Wii U, which comes with a very unique controller that has a touchscreen that can be used to interact with the game in different ways.

Wreck-It Ralph is an arcade game based on a movie of the same name, which released last month. The game is made by Disney, who have so far given us a bunch of mobile games, the most popular among them being ‘Where’s My Water?’ and ‘Where’s My Perry?’

Now that the Nexus 4 has finally been released, it will go through the same motions as every other recent major device. There will be the drop tests, torture tests and the infamous “Will it blend?” tests later, but for now we have the iFixit teardown to kick things off.

Back when the iPhone 5 was released, one of the complaints was about the camera, specifically the purple tinting that was observed in some of the photographs. But if you thought this only happens on the iPhone 5′s camera, you are in for a surprise.

It’s been over two months since the Amazon event on September 6, where they announced their new range of Kindle and Kindle Fire devices. The Kindle Fire HD, in particular, was not supposed to ship till November, even though it went on pre-order pretty much instantly.
Well, that day has come and if you are one of those who ordered a Kindle Fire HD you should be glad to know that Amazon has started shipping the tablet. Unfortunately, if you order now, you will have to wait another month before you can get it due to backorder. Read more »
Hot on the heels of the leaked firmware for the Galaxy S III, the upcoming Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean ROM from Samsung for the Galaxy S II has also been leaked. The ROM is said to be very stable, which indicates it was in its final stages and that Samsung would probably start rolling it out soon.
Being a Jelly Bean ROM, it brings with it the usual Jelly Bean features, such as Project Butter and Google Now. You will also notice that the TouchWiz interface on the S II has been updated and is now identical to the one on the Galaxy S III and the Note II, down to the bloop bloop sound when you touch the screen. Rockstar has released a new trailer for the upcoming GTA V. The video does not feature any gameplay sequences but gives a look at the general setting of the game.
GTA V will take place in the fictional location called Los Santos in San Andreas. It will be Rockstar’s biggest open world game yet and feature three new protagonists, all of whom will be playable. The three characters have different stories that intertwine as the game progress and eventually you will be switching between the characters as they work together to accomplish a single goal. Sony has released a new ad campaign for its NEX range of cameras that mocks DSLR users. But not just any DSLR users, clueless DSLR users in particular.
The ads basically concentrate on DSLR users who carry a ton of equipment around for their cameras and don’t know the first thing about how to use them. Most of the situations shown in the video are places where a simple point and shoot camera would be more appropriate but the people are seen carrying around complicated DSLR rigs that are more trouble than worth. A couple of days ago we reported on the news that Samsung’s chip making division had increased the prices of the processors that it supplies to Apple for use in their iOS devices by as much as 20%. Turns out, that wasn’t true at all.
According to an unnamed Samsung official who spoke to the Korean newspaper The Hankyoreh, Samsung has not increased the prices of the processors. He also said that prices are agreed upon at the beginning of each year and aren’t changed easily. Read more »
According to reports coming out of Korea, Samsung has apparently increased the manufacturing cost of processors that it supplies to Apple by 20%.
As you may know, Apple custom designs its own chipsets for use in iOS devices but these chips are then manufactured by Samsung to Apple’s specifications. Samsung has now increased the prices of these chips by 20% and Apple, faced with the lack of immediate alternatives, has agreed. Read more »

This new model is manufactured by Acer and is sold for just $199 in the US. It’s been one and a half year since Microsoft acquired Skype and we are finally starting to see the fruits of the acquisition. After releasing the new Skype client for Windows 8, Microsoft has released a new Skype Preview for Windows Phone 8 devices.
This new version brings some much needed features over the Windows Phone 7 version. The biggest feature is that Skype can now run in the background and always stay on, just like the new Windows 8 app. This allows you to get messages like any other instant messaging service and calls come in like regular phone calls.
