A lucky YouTube user got his hands on a Nokia 808 PureView and to our delight focused on its camcorder abilities instead of its imaging skills.

He shot a series of video clips at different scene modes with the Nokia 808 PureView and a tripod, and patched them into one clip using the Sony Vegas editing software. Read more »

We’re done testing the battery endurance of the new Samsung flagship and we are ready to share the results with you. The I9300 Galaxy S III has a huge 2100 mAh battery, but its 4.8″ HD Super AMOLED still causes concern.

It was also interesting to see how the new-generation Exynos 4212 Quad chipset fared. It has no companion core to handle less demanding tasks, but all of its four Cortex-A9 cores are built on a 32nm process, so they should be pretty efficient. Read more »

The previous update (1.9.0) to the Facebook app for Android brought two extra icons to your app drawer – Camera and Messenger apps.

Most users weren’t particularly happy with that though and it appears that Facebook listened as today we get a new release, which removes those icons. The functionality should still be available right from your homescreen, though, via widgets . Read more »

Opera Mini is among the more popular browsers out there for mobile phones and it’s now become available on yet another platform. The free web browser alternative has now hit the official Bada app repository – Samsung Apps.

Back when Apple released its iPhoto app with the arrival of the new iPad some people noted that the company was using map data that doesn’t look Googlish in origin.

Some digging in the matter revealed that Apple (who back then claimed they were using Gmaps) is using Open Street Maps with a custom overlay on top. Now we see an acknowledgement to OSM in the latest iPhoto version. Read more »

Gmail Labs released two new features to the popular mail client – Automatic Message Translation and Smart Mute. It also tweaked the Gmail titles to highlight the number of unread messages.

The most important addition is Auto Translate – it basically incorporates Google’s translate feature into your email, which is something many have demanded for a long time now. Read more »

Obviously feeling the heat of Google Drive, Dropbox has brought an update for its service, featuring a new Photos page for its web interface.

Furniture giant IKEA is apparently out to improve the disposable camera concept. The company has unveiled a digital camera housed in a cardboard body, which it plans to sell in its stores around the globe.

The cardboard IKEA digicam can store up to 40 pics and has a USB port for transferring them to your computer. Read more »
