We’ve come across a new promo video of the HTC Flyer. It’s highlights the main features that distinguish the Flyer from the pack of Android 3.0 Honeycomb-running tabs and slates out there. And it’s a six-minute video, so you can imagine it gets pretty detailed.

The video is very good, actually, and fun to watch. It shows some pretty sweet organizing stuff, like taking notes with audio and pictures and even handwritten remarks thanks to the HTC Scribe technology.

A very important thing we noticed is that the Flyer demonstrates in the video the new lock screen on HTC Sense 3.0. We also saw this on the Sprint version of the HTC EVO 3D. It gives you the choice of 4 apps, which you can open directly from the lock screen. Those can be rearranged however you like. It makes us think that the Flyer might keep other goodies under its hood.

But I can’t help to notice that its makers have borrowed really heavily from Sony and Apple – to a point where it gets confusing. A tablet like no other? Really? Read more »

Hold your wild thoughts, guys. It’s not exactly the sci-fi stuff you’ve may imagined. I’m sure Samsung will get there too, but for now it’s only started manufacturing 22-inch transparent panels relying on ambient light instead of some kind of backlighting.

The 22-inch transparent LCD panel has 1680×1050 pixels resolution, HDMI and UDB ports. It has two models – a monochrome one with 20% transparency and a full-color one with 15% transparency.

Google is introducing the +1 button, which will be a like button, available directly on every one of your search results. The service will soon be available for testing and after that to everyone with a Google account.

The idea behind this is to vote +1 for Google search results or websites that you like. Essentially, this way you would be giving feedback to everyone else who’s interested in the same topic. If you live in the UK you will be able to get the 16GB Tegra 2-packing Honeycomb-running Transformer on 6th April for £379 (€430), while £429 (€485) can get you 16GB of extra storage.

That price does not include the hardware keyboard featuring an extended battery. If you want get the full Transformer experience, you should get ready to part with an additional £50(€56). RIM seems to be headed into more and more trouble with the upcoming launch of their first tablet – the Blackberry Playbook. According to a leaked internal document, the device will ship without native support for e-mail (contacts and PIM apps, too). Say what?

To get your email on the upcoming BlackBerry tablet, you will either need to use Blackberry Bridge, which links the tablet to a Blackberry phone, or would have to use the tablet’s web browser. Last year Google announced a new project: covering an entire city with fiber optic connections and providing its citizen with internet connection 100 times faster than before. Naturally there was no shortage of applicants – 1100 cities all over the US wanted to have a taste of the 1Gbps internet speeds.

Google took their time reviewing the applications and announced today that the lucky winner is Kansas City, Kansas. A development agreement with the city has already been signed and work on the actual project has already started. Read more »

Now that was fast. The first kernel modification for the HTC Thunderbolt 4G overclocking its Snapdragon chipset appeared only a few hours after the Taiwanese company officially released its source code. The frequency was pushed to the impressively sounding 1.8 GHz, which has resulted in some pretty impressive benchmark results.
