It appears the the iPad, along with its multiple entertaining qualities, can also serve as an inspiration for a session of arts and crafts.
We stumbled upon this wonderful stop-motion video of the work of a Ukrainian design artist from the British Higher School of Art and Design (Moscow). It’s an iPad made of plasticine. We can’t help but be amazed by the attention to detail and the execution. Enjoy!!! Read more »
The Qualcomm’s Snapdragon MSM8660 chipset is the latest big platform to power the next generation mobile devices. It packs a dual-core 1.5GHz Scorpion processor and Adreno 220 graphics.
The benchmarks you are about to see were made on a Snapdragon Mobile Development Platform (MDP) device. It’s a fully functional device manufactured by Qualcomm for demonstrating and development purposes.
I don’t know about you, but designing processors and graphics chips isn’t the easiest job in the world. That’s why Qualcomm has developed a new, and rather innovative way of making sure their chipset engineers are always giving a top-notch performance.
Welcome to a real Dragons Retreat. A place where the humbleness of the nature, the brilliance of the human mind and… komodo dragons can connect and be in real harmony. Check this awesome video of how Qualcomm employed dragons help people design Snapdragons. Read more »
Ebay and some of its overly entrepreneurial sellers have managed to profit handsomely from the craze which followed the release of Apple’s iPad 2. The data which the popular auction site released this Thursday is clear. There are plenty of people (about 12,000 of them to be precise), who are willing to avoid the long lines and shipping times, which the mere immortals have to endure to obtain the precious device. This task has been accomplished by paying a premium in the range of 40 to 53% above the original price of the iPad 2.
The most sought after devices from the model line are the low-end 16GB Wi-Fi version, and the top of the line 64GB Wi-Fi/3G tablet. Read more »
Time lapse videos are one of the most beautiful and many times stunning, even, forms of video capture. A time lapse video is a sequence of many photos, which display the world in front of you in a fast seamless motion.
And if you thought time lapse videos are only for the pros, you’re wrong. Yes, there’s an app for that too… And if you don’t have an iPhone…
Bahh, I’m kidding. The TimeLapse app is a great iPhone/iPod Touch app, which puts you in control of your own short movie project. Chances are you’ll surprise yourself how good those videos actually can get with almost no effort. Read more »
We’ve come across a new promo video of the HTC Flyer. It’s highlights the main features that distinguish the Flyer from the pack of Android 3.0 Honeycomb-running tabs and slates out there. And it’s a six-minute video, so you can imagine it gets pretty detailed.
The video is very good, actually, and fun to watch. It shows some pretty sweet organizing stuff, like taking notes with audio and pictures and even handwritten remarks thanks to the HTC Scribe technology.
A very important thing we noticed is that the Flyer demonstrates in the video the new lock screen on HTC Sense 3.0. We also saw this on the Sprint version of the HTC EVO 3D. It gives you the choice of 4 apps, which you can open directly from the lock screen. Those can be rearranged however you like. It makes us think that the Flyer might keep other goodies under its hood.
But I can’t help to notice that its makers have borrowed really heavily from Sony and Apple – to a point where it gets confusing. A tablet like no other? Really? Read more »
Hold your wild thoughts, guys. It’s not exactly the sci-fi stuff you’ve may imagined. I’m sure Samsung will get there too, but for now it’s only started manufacturing 22-inch transparent panels relying on ambient light instead of some kind of backlighting.
The 22-inch transparent LCD panel has 1680×1050 pixels resolution, HDMI and UDB ports. It has two models – a monochrome one with 20% transparency and a full-color one with 15% transparency.
Google is introducing the +1 button, which will be a like button, available directly on every one of your search results. The service will soon be available for testing and after that to everyone with a Google account.
The idea behind this is to vote +1 for Google search results or websites that you like. Essentially, this way you would be giving feedback to everyone else who’s interested in the same topic. You’d also be on the receiving of this new feature as the community opinion should help you find relevant information sources as well. Read more »

Apple has just released a new developer preview of the Mac OS X Lion. It comes after a whole month without any updates on the first release and once again you can get it through the Mac AppStore only.
RIM seems to be headed into more and more trouble with the upcoming launch of their first tablet – the Blackberry Playbook. According to a leaked internal document, the device will ship without native support for e-mail (contacts and PIM apps, too). Say what?
To get your email on the upcoming BlackBerry tablet, you will either need to use Blackberry Bridge, which links the tablet to a Blackberry phone, or would have to use the tablet’s web browser. A future software update should bring the much desired functionality to the users. Now that’s a bummer. Read more »
Last year Google announced a new project: covering an entire city with fiber optic connections and providing its citizen with internet connection 100 times faster than before. Naturally there was no shortage of applicants – 1100 cities all over the US wanted to have a taste of the 1Gbps internet speeds.
Google took their time reviewing the applications and announced today that the lucky winner is Kansas City, Kansas. A development agreement with the city has already been signed and work on the actual project has already started. Read more »
Now that was fast. The first kernel modification for the HTC Thunderbolt 4G overclocking its Snapdragon chipset appeared only a few hours after the Taiwanese company officially released its source code. The frequency was pushed to the impressively sounding 1.8 GHz, which has resulted in some pretty impressive benchmark results.
The 1.8GHz HTC Thunderbolt 4G scored over 3000 in Quadrant, which is immense for a single-core handset. Read more »
Some guys over at Nokia Denmark have freed the Parrot AR.Drone from its iOS shackles and have written a control app for Symbian^3 devices (the Nokia N8, E7, C7, C6-01).
The app lets you fly the AR.Drone by using on screen controls and the phone’s accelerometer… Read more »
It’s been almost six months since the N8 hit the market, but the Finns have no intention of stopping its marketing campaign. I’ve already lost count of all the movies, covers, pictures, etc. shot with the 12-megapixel cameraphone, but here is a new batch. This time Nokia has invited popular aerial photographer Jason Hawkes to take some nice heli-shots of Britain’s most beautiful places as part of Nokia’s HD Horizons project.

All shots under this UK project are taken with the Nokia N8. Here are some of the best picks: Read more »
