It seems like over a year already, since the Galaxy Tab hit the shelves. Well, actually it’s been 6 months, which is a long time in gadget terms. Now the Galaxy Tab has been confirmed to hit the US market in its Wi-Fi-only version, from 349.99 bucks. It will be available on 10 April.
This reincarnation of Samsung’s proto tablet has gained some extra RAM – 592MB, but lost the GPS functionality, the HSDPA connectivity, the 32GB and 64GB storage options and some 2000 mAh worth of battery. It’s now down to just 4000, instead of the 6000 the original had. And the available built-in memory is 16GB. But you can always expand it up to 32GB with a SD card. Opera just announced reaching 100 monthly million mobile users… again. But this time it’s all about the smallest Opera browser of the bunch, Opera Mini. The diminutive web browser also serves a gargantuan number of page views per day – as much as 2 billion.

Well, well, well, look who came by to hang out a little with us. It’s been a long time since we first met the Galaxy S II at the MWC 2011 earlier this year, and now the time has come for the Samsung Galaxy S II to be properly previewed away from all the hustle and bustle.
Naturally, being the replacement for the well-known Samsung i9000 Galaxy S, the Galaxy S II has to fit the very large shoes of its predecessor. Fring is preparing an update for its apps, which will add four-way group video calls. The service will work on iOS, Android and Symbian and best of all, it will allow for cross-platform video conferencing too.
The INQ Cloud Touch phone is on sale in the UK earlier than expected (it was slated for Q3), with some better specs but not quite the bargain price we originally saw. This Facebook-loving Android is coming out just in time – before the similar offerings from HTC get out (the Salsa and the ChaCha).
Easter is coming and you know how RovioMobile, the developer of the blockbuster game Angry Birds rolls when a major holiday is just around the corner. Yes, an Easter update to Angry Birds Seasons is imminent and is coming later this month, as Rovio themselves tweeted recently.

With everyone in the US so excited about the CDMA iPhone, you’d think that landing on Verizon’s network is the best thing that ever happened to Apple’s smartphone. However the survey that ChangeWave Research just published shows that iPhone users on both carriers are equally happy.
Apparently 80% of the iPhone 4 owners on AT&T are very satisfied, while another 18% describe themselves as “somewhat satisfied”. On the other side, 82% of the Apple-loving Verizon subscribers are very satisfied, while 16% are “somewhat satisfied”. Read more »

Add-ons are certainly Firefox’s greatest blessing, but sometimes they can also be its worst curse. Unfortunately, installing too many of them may seriously increase the browser start-up and page loading times even when you have some capable computer hardware at hand.
Fortunately, Mozilla is finally going to try and assist you in making your add-ons behave themselves. The company says that on average each add-on adds 10% to the start-up time on the Firefox browser so it suggests disabling the ones you are not using. Read more »

It was just yesterday we saw a bunch of Windows 8 screenshots from the latest (Milestone 3) alpha release. Today we got something even better – a few shots from the tablet-oriented Immersive UI of Windows 8.
