A new update to the Skype app for iPhone has been released today, and it brings back a feature that’s been missing for about a month.
Ever since the grand Skype 5.0 redesign debuted on the iPhone in June, support for voice messaging has been missing. Not anymore, though, since Skype 5.2 for iPhone brings that back.
This year will see another big rise among smart devices shipped to retailers and sold to customers – by its end more than 2.43 billion units will have left the manufacturing facilities which compares nicely to to 2013′s 2.34 billion.
The numbers come from Gartner which breaks them down by traditional PCs, ultrabooks and premium laptops, tablets and mobile phones. Interestingly the PC market will account for 308 million devices with tablets closing in at 256 million. Gartner’s projection for 2015 is that tablets will overtake PCs with roughly 4 million more shipments.
South Korean’s Fair Trade Commission has ordered Apple and Google to establish proper and user-friendly refund policies for the AppStore and the Play Store. This decision will probably impact many other regions as well.
The only way to get your money back from an AppStore purchase was through contacting Apple directly and opening a case. Google on the other hand allows you a full refund for an app within 15 minutes of purchase, but after that contacting Google through the proper channels is the only way.
The Asus VivoTab RT TF600T is getting on two years old now and Amazon is clearing out its stock by slashing the original price to just $175. The Windows RT platform is drying up on the vine, but getting a 10.1″ tablet under $200 is still a pretty good deal.

Foxconn, Apple’s primary Chinese manufacturer for its iPhone smartphones , is allegedly incorporating some 10,000 robots into its assembly line process in anticipation of heightened iPhone 6 production.
Foxconn is still currently in the final testing stages of the robots, which are each expected to produce 30,000 smartphones.
The Nokia Lumia 930 is getting ready to go on sale in Europe with several retailers listing the product and a few of them accepting pre-orders. It looks like the sales of the Lumia 930 will be accompanied by an official flip cover that has been designed to complement the phone.
Although, Nokia hasn’t officially announced any accessories for the Lumia 930, the protective case for the smartphone has surfaced in Italy. The cover has precise cutouts for all the ports, buttons and for the 20 megapixel PureView camera on the back.
LG unveiled a trio of new G Pad tablets – G Pad 7.0, G Pad 8.0 and G Pad 10.1. The slates were showcased at the MedPi 2014 trade show in Monaco earlier this year, but there was no word on the availability of these devices.
Today, LG has announced the global launch of G Pad 10.1. The company’s largest tablet will be up for grabs in United States followed by other markets in Europe, Asia and Latin America later this month. The pricing hasn’t been detailed as they are said to vary from each market.
South HAMerica is the latest update to Rovio’s Angry Birds Seasons game, which is updated every now and then for a festival or season specific level pack. The latest version of Apple’s mobile operating system comes with a pretty odd bug. It turns out that for some regions, the Calendar app shows the wrong holidays.
What actually happens is that the holidays from other regions are shown instead of the ones adequate for what your location is set to.
