USB audio coming to stock Android in ‘L’ release

Audiophiles rejoice. Google will be adding support for USB audio out in the next version of Android, currently known as the ‘L’ release. The feature briefly appeared on screen during the I/O keynote but Google has now closed the issue added on its support forum asking for USB audio that was added two years ago.

For those not aware, USB audio out allows you to connect devices such as headphone amplifiers to the USB port of the phone and get superior audio quality out of it. Most smartphones these days are capable of outputting clean audio through their headphone jack. Microsoft introduces new macro Instagram competition for Nokia Lumias

Nokia, or should we say Microsoft, has introduced its latest monthly competition through Instagram, where Lumia users are given the chance to showcase their macro-shooting skills.

WP8.1 dynamic lockscreen caught on video

When Microsoft announced Windows Phone 8.1 back at its BUILD conference, one of the features that was mentioned included dynamic lockscreens, which would allow developers to make custom lockscreens. Unfortunately, this feature was not included on the test build that was released to developers.

Huawei Honor 6 taken apart, given good repairability score

The recently announced Huawei Honor 6 flagship isn’t even on the market yet but some industrious folk got their hands on it and did what comes natural to tech geeks – they took it apart. While it’s not coming from iFixit the people who took apart the Honor 6 (also called Glory 6 in some markets) awarded it a 7/10 separability score.

The teardown photos reveal the back material can take some abuse, but the battery is not easy to take out. Read more »

Facebook Messenger gets iPad support

Facebook has been pushing hard to become a top player in the messaging game. The company has recently purchased WhatsApp, took a page out of Snapchat’s book with Slingshot, and made its messenger available for Windows Phone.

Angry Birds Seasons goes to South HAMerica with latest update

It was apparently time for Angry Birds Seasons to get yet another update. This time, Rovio added 24 new levels to its insanely popular game. These take you on a trip to South HAMerica, where your mission is, as always, to stop those pesky pigs.
