It may sound unlikely but some manufacturers of Windows 8 tablets are trying to bring the price fight to Android with $100 tablets. Back in June we saw the 8″ Emdoor EM-i8080 and now the Kingsing W8 enters the stage.
The Kingsing W8 is powered by a quad-core Intel Bay Trail-T processor clocked at 1.8GHz paired with Intel HD graphics. This is proper Windows 8 too, not the failed RT branch.
Amazon may be working on a revamped flagship tablet, the Kindle Fire HDX 8.9. The original one launched with the then-current Snapdragon 800, while this new version spotted by the AnTuTu team uses the latest Snapdragon 805.
Other key specs seem unchanged – like the 8.9″ 2,560 x 1,600 screen, 2GB of RAM or 8MP / 1MP camera setup.
Apple refreshed its MacBook Pro lineup but it’s a relatively small upgrade. The 13″ and 15″ are more or less as rumored yesterday. This update comes less than a year than the previous one.
They are still powered by Haswell-based Intel Core processors, but with some new options. You also get 8GB RAM as standard on the 13″ MacBook Pro and 16GB on the 15″ model (last year it was 4GB / 8GB).
Looks like LG just decided to turn it all the way up to eleven. The latest television to come from the South Korean manufacturer is the LG 105UC9, boasting a spec sheet that is scarcely believable.
Well, first of all, this TV is 5K. Or at least that’s what LG is calling it, since it’s not an official term. The name comes from the resolution, which is an astonishing 5120 x 2160, which gives it an aspect ratio of 21:9. Last month we reported that Fitbit is working on releasing a Windows Phone app for its Fitbit fitness band. The app is now live and can be downloaded from the Windows Phone store.

The HTC One (E8) is a plastic variant of the HTC One (M8) that retains almost all aspects of the flagship’s premium package but asks significantly lower at retail. The front is still adorned by a 5″ Super LCD3 of 1080p resolution, the chipset is still a Snapdragon 801, the speakers are still stereo BoomSound and the software is still Sense 6 on top of Android 4.4.2 KitKat.
The Intel-powered full-Windows running Surface Pro 3 (which is pictured below) was made official by Microsoft back in May. Yet so far the Surface 2 with Windows RT hasn’t had a successor. That, however, may come in October, if a new rumor is to be believed.

Well, this is an odd one. It looks like Flipkart, India’s biggest online retailer, has mistakenly sent people who ordered the new XOLO Win Q900s an Android-running version of the device. To be clear, the XOLO Win Q900s should run Windows Phone 8.1, the latest version of Microsoft’s mobile OS.
So imagine the surprise (if not anger) you’d feel were you to order one of those, only to receive something that runs Android.
Starting next year Hilton will allow iPhone users to use their phones as hotel room keys. That means that you’ll be able to bypass the front desk of the hotel completely.
Currently as is iPhone users do have the Hilton app but upon walking into a hotel they’d still need to get a physical key with the app handling online check-in, reservations and such – Android users have the same deal going on but there’s no word on using your droid to unlock Hilton doors, although it should happen as well.
LG has released a new variant of its Windows Tab Book tablet that’s set to run on just Android.
The Tab Book is similar to its Windows counterpart (announced at CES this year), except that it uses its quad-core 2.6GHz Core i5 processor to run Android 4.2.2.
A new photo purportedly snapped at the Apple’s Chongqing store in China suggests the 15-inch MacBook Pro is destined to receive a small specs bump. More specifically, Apple is planning to pimp the laptop with a faster Haswell processor as well as 16GB of RAM as standard.
The good news is that the pricing won’t be affected with current prices of the laptop remaining intact. As you’d expect the 15-inch MacBook Pro will retain its three main configurations.
Microsoft has a new ad out and it pits Windows Phone 8.1′s virtual assistant Cortana against Apple’s own Siri in a fight to prove which is the best.
The assistants battle on the grounds of a Lumia 635 and iPhone 5s. Microsoft naturally picks its strong suits asking Cortana for things it knows it can do like set up a reminder for the next time a contact calls.
