Indian customers order XOLO Q900s Windows Phone, receive Android version

Well, this is an odd one. It looks like Flipkart, India’s biggest online retailer, has mistakenly sent people who ordered the new XOLO Win Q900s an Android-running version of the device. To be clear, the XOLO Win Q900s should run Windows Phone 8.1, the latest version of Microsoft’s mobile OS.

So imagine the surprise (if not anger) you’d feel were you to order one of those, only to receive something that runs Android.

It’s unclear what exact Android model was sent instead of the Windows Phone that was ordered, but we assume it could have been the XOLO Q900 launched last year. If so, the incredibly similar model number may have fooled Flipkart’s warehouse staff.

Anyway, if you are in this situation you should contact the retailer and arrange to have the Android smartphone returned for free. You should then hopefully be sent the correct Windows Phone model afterwards. The bad news, however, is that the XOLO Win Q900s is currently out of stock, so you might need to wait a while for it to finally appear at your doorstep.
