The white color Galaxy Note has been an elusive bird and it’s rarely been sighted. We finally have one and we’ve prepared a bunch of photos for you.

Samsung announced the Galaxy Note back in October, but it launched only a black version of the unique phoneblet, as we like to call it internally. Just before Christmas though, the Galaxy Note appeared in snow white dress in Korea and a few other markets.

A few days ago the white Galaxy Note hit the UK and other European markets, AT&T US is also launching both the black and white Notes next month.

With the MWC closing in, the rumors of what will (or won’t) be announced are all over the place. One of the more consistent rumors is that Samsung will announce the Galaxy Tab 11.6 Android tablet.

The name suggests a 11.6″ screen, but according to the rumors, the tablet itself won’t be much larger than the Tab 10.1. The screen will supposedly have a whopping WQXGA resolution (2560×1600). Read more »

Motorola’s newest tablet, the oddly named Xyboard, has gone on sale in the US. The tablet is now available on Motorola’s website and will be delivered to you within two days with free shipping.

Motorola is offering you two models, in 8.2-inch and 10.1-inch display sizes and each of them will be available in 16GB and 32GB variants respectively. The prices for the 8.2-inch models are $399.99 and $499.99 and the 10.1-inch models will cost you $100 more at $499.99 and $599.99 for the same storage capacities. Windows has been a mostly desktop/laptop OS with only the occasional slate. But with slates being one of the primary targets of Windows 8, devs had to tackle an interesting problem – what to do with all those sensors that smartphones and tablets have?

Windows 8 will feature support for ambient light sensors and also an accelerometer, compass and gyroscope, which will be mashed together into something Microsoft calls “Sensor fusion” to improve the sensor’s performance. Read more »

We just got the report on the tablet market in 2011 from Strategy Analytics and it tells some interesting stories. The iPad managed to just over double its sales compared to 2010 and is still the dominant force, holding a market share of 57.6%.

However, the iPad is no longer able to keep up with the overall market growth, which is fueled by the strengthening Android sales. The green robot tablets shipments grew over three times year-over-year and that helped them reduce the gap to their iOS counterparts. Read more »

Normally, it goes like this – a cool product enters the market and the crafty guys from ifixit take its shiny new body to pieces and expose every chip hiding inside. Well that didn’t happen with the Samsung Galaxy Note, so the Koreans took it upon them to perform the task.

Asus surprised nastily quite a lot of people, when they shipped their Transformer Prime monster of a tablet with a locked bootloader, but it seems that things are about to fall back into place. The company just announced through its Twitter account that the tool for unlocking the quad-core beast is on its way.

According to Asus, it should be coming in February and that is just a week away now. There are no more details given, but we guess those will be made available when the tool is finalized. Read more »

There will be much celebration going on in 1, Infinite Loop, Cupertino right now and rightly so because the company just posted its highest quarterly revenue and earnings figures ever along with record-breaking iPhone, iPad and Mac sales.

Apple posted a record quarterly revenue of $46.33 billion and record quarterly net profit of $13.06 billion, or $13.87 per diluted share, which is up by almost 50 percent over last year’s quarter. Apple also generated over $17.5 billion in cash flow during this quarter and their total bank balance now sits at a lofty $97.6 billion in cash. Read more »

New reports suggest that Sony is already testing ICS on their two Android tablets and that the public release of the update should coincide with the release of the update for the company’s now wholly owned Xperia lineup some time in April.

Sony is also allegedly preparing “some really cool unique bits” to spice up the Android 4.0 for its tablet devices, but we can only guess.

It’s no secret to anyone that no device is perfect and the Transformer Prime doesn’t make an exception. Shortly after its release it got clear that some Prime tablets carried a faulty GPS.

ASUS tried to fix the issue with a software update, but it seems that it hasn’t really fixed anything. Or at least that’s what some users report. Read more »

The Pew Internet & American Life Project conducted several studies in the US, which show an interesting trend – in about a month over this past holiday season, the number of owners of tablets and e-readers almost doubled.

In mid-December around 10% of people in the US owned a tablet and just as many owned an e-reader. The study done in early January showed that ownership had jumped to 19% for tablets and for e-readers. Read more »

The first Adam was an ambitious product from the India-based Notion Ink but was plagued with issues even before it started shipping and when eventually it did ship, the less than stellar performance meant that few actually bothered to purchase it resulting in what is possibly one of the biggest failures in the tablet segment.

But it seems Notion Ink isn’t going to let the lack of success of its first tablet leave this burgeoning segment. So now there is going to be an Adam II, which was rumored for a while now but has now been officially confirmed by the company. Read more »

Motorola has started rolling out an OTA Ice Cream Sandwich software update to its Xoom Wi-Fi tablet but sadly only users in the US can take advantage so far.

Among the new features are a faster, updated browser, swipe to dismiss notifications, tasks, browsers tabs, the new app launcher, resizable widgets and more. Read more »
