Samsung has released a second video teaser for the IFA trade show for consumer electronics, which teases viewers with waves and the laconic punch line – “Something Big is Coming”.
Now we can’t ignore the clever sneaked-in waves or the fact that “bada” in Korean means ocean or sea. The teaser obviously hints at the newest Wave flagship – the rumored Samsung S8600 Wave III. Read more »
The iPhone 5 (4s) will most probably feature a dual-mode CDMA and GSM version in order to cater to both AT&T and Verizon networks and hence be a truly global device. This was discovered by TechCrunch via an iOS developer’s insider information.
According to this person, an app has been registered from a single dual-mode iPhone device in testing, supposedly the next iPhone, running on iOS 5 and using two separate mobile network codes and mobile country codes. The MNC/MCC codes were used for AT&T and Verizon at the same time. Read more »
The Nokia N8 has just made the official jump to Anna, but those unafraid to mess with their smartphone platform (and void their warranties in the process) have already been spending quality time with the next Symbian revision – Belle.

HTC’s obviously preparing something bit for September 1st as the company is reportedly organizing four simultaneous meet-up events across Western Europe. HTC is inviting everybody who is interested and says it will reveal “what’s next” and that it will have “a few phone treats”. On the last public event of this type, the company showed the HTC Sensation to the world for the first time.

Nokia N8 hasn’t even received the official Anna update yet, but the most daring of its users are already rewarded with the next Symbian iteration – Belle. The files required for flashing Belle on your N8 are already available for download so if you are knowledgeable enough and decide that it’s worth voiding your warranty you might get it up and running right now.
There’s not much in the way of instructions on how to flash it in the forum thread that lists the download files, but you can find them over here. You would need to apply the Anna update first though, if you haven’t done so already. Read more »

The HTC EVO 3D is HTC’s answer to LG’s 3D foray on the world tech scene. It features the solid foundation of the ultra-popular Sensation including a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, Adreno 220 GPU and the latest Android distribution – 2.3 Gingerbread. However the single 8 megapixel snapper has been replaced with a couple of 5 megapixel cameras, allowing for 3D photo and video capture, while the screen has been replaced by one that does glass-free 3D.

We came across a really good fake video of the Apple Germany website, detailing the iPhone 5. Someone really gave their all when creating this one. It details everything from the new design, the new dual-core A5 chip, better 8 MP camera with FullHD video recording and the bigger display.
The video is obviously fake – you can bet your good money on that fact and I’ve prepared the proof that’s needed. Still it’s pretty well made and makes for a good rumor roundup so checking it out is worth it. Read more »
There are an array of different screen technologies out their vying for superiority in a crowded device world. Of course with displays it’s having the right tool for the job; a low power, high legibility e-ink screen suits the Kindle’s purpose, where as a super high-res, high pixel density HAST LCD would feel right at home on the latest entertainment-centric tab.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia mini pro stopped by our office today and we have some initial impressions to share, plus an unboxing and hands-on video. The petite messenger is about the same size as its predecessor, but packs a lot more punch.
Standing at just 92 x 53 x 18 mm the Xperia mini pro packs a 3″ HVGA screen, a big improvement over the 2.55″ QVGA of the original. And performance has been improved quite a lot too, thanks to the 1GHz CPU and the 512MB of RAM. Read more »

Over the past few days riots have broken out across London and even spread to other cities throughout the UK following the death of a 29 year old man shot by police last Thursday. What was initially a peaceful protest designed to question the legitimacy of the man’s shooting soon evolved into a violent riot.
As the days have passed, more and more groups of people, which the news have stated are ‘primarily made up of youths’, have congregated across London to riot, committing acts of vandalism, theft and arson in their wake. Read more »
The names of three upcoming Android smartphones headed to Sprint just got confirmed. Subscribers to the fourth largest US carrier will be getting access to the Samsung Epic 4G Touch, HTC EVO Design 4G and Motorola Admiral.
There’s not much information about the specs of those devices, but it’s pretty safe to say that the Epic 4G Touch will be a Samsung Galaxy S II variant, featuring a slide-out physical QWERTY keyboard. Read more »
