LG introduces the “True HD IPS” display officially, brags about its color accuracy, brightness, and battery efficiency

Granted, LG already introduced an actual smartphone with its True HD IPS display, but the company only saw fit to announce the technology officially now. The company held an event in Seoul dedicated to the new screen, detailing its advantages over competing screen technologies.

According to LG, True HD IPS display takes the viewing experience on mobile handsets, thanks to its high resolution (1280 x 720 real RGB pixels) and automatic color adjustments applied by LG’s exclusive Mobile HD Graphic Engine. Read more »

iPhone 4S has 512MB RAM, claims Infinity Blade’s developer

As usual Apple didn’t specify the amount of RAM on the iPhone 4S announcement, nor is it mentioned on the official website. We are still a few days ahead of the iPhone 4S launch, so no one has disassembled it yet to discover what’s hiding inside the shell.

The last member of the Samsung Galaxy S II trio of droids is here, people. The T-Mobile version of the smartphone was the last to get its availability announced. It will be available online on October 10, and in T-Mobile stores on October 12.

The T-Mobile Galaxy S II does sport quite a few changes, compared to its GSM siblings, starting with its bigger 4.52 Super AMOLED Plus screen and a different CPU under its cover. Its battery is beefier as well. Now on with our initial impressions.

Sony Ericsson Nozomi and Aoba somewhat confirmed, HD screens and dual-core 1.5GHz CPUs inside

We just found out that the Nokia Sea Ray, the first Windows Phone handset from the Finnish manufacturer, will supposedly be called ‘Sun’. There are at least a couple of other WP7 Nokia phones in the rumor mill and one of them might be called ‘Lumia’.

iPhone 4S has Bluetooth 4.0 support but not NFC – what’s the difference?

Yesterday’s event put an end to the rumors that the next iPhone will have NFC – it doesn’t. The iPhone 4S does have Bluetooth 4.0 however, does that replace it? Well, my guess is no. But it does open up the door for improvement in some categories of wireless gadgets popular with the iPhone crowd.
