Samsung continues with its U.S. offensive, folks. The latest droid to come from the Korean giant – the Exhibit 4G for T-Mobile, offers an interesting blend of high-end, and budget phone features. Hey Team BlackBerry, what’s shiny, new and social all over? We want to tell you all about it. Can you guess what it might be?

That’s the message that BlackBerry posted on Facebook today. With every other company hopping on to the social networking bandwagon, it seems BlackBerry felt left out, so to make up for that they are coming up with a new offering that is going to be ‘social all over’.

If you have been keeping track you would know that the recent batch of high-end Xperia smartphones pack some of the best LCD displays we have seen. Their Reality displays might lack a bit in viewing angles, but their image quality is downright splendid, and as the company would gladly tell anyone, their new Mobile BRAVIA Engine certainly plays a big part in delivering it.

We already had the pleasure of getting the Galaxy S Plus around our office a while back. It even guest-starred in an epic fight with the Optimus 2X and Galaxy S II and survived to head its own preview. All the while it was powered by a pre-release 1.2GHz processor instead of the final 1.4GHz Qualcomm MSM8255T one. Now it’s here with all the toppings in all of its retail glory and you can bet it’s ready for its own review.

Rumors of an iPad with Retina display began circulating shortly before the current iPad 2 became official. It has been speculated to arrive as early as Q4 this year, bringing more bang than ever before.

Well, LG’s Display CEO – Kwon Young-soo jumped in and poured more gasoline into the rumor mill fire by saying in an interview with the Korean Times that LG’s Retina display have been used in iPhones and iPads. He went on saying that more smartphone manufacturers will release new models employing the Retina display. Read more »

GSMA has just announced it has decided on the city to host the Mobile World Congress from 2013 to 2018. It’s once again Barcelona, Spain. As you might have heard, GSMA had to decide between four cities – Barcelona, Paris, Milan and Munich. The MWC 2012 was supposed to be Barcelona’s last one but it seems the city once again came up with the best bid.

There will be some changes though. Starting 2013, the MWC will be held at a new venue – the Fira de Barcelona Gran Via. Judging by the few photos we found, the new fairgrounds look awesome and we can’t wait to see the new place in two years. Read more »

Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY has just got a nice FPS exclusive among the rest of the droids. EA has launched Battlefield: Bad Company 2 for Xperia PLAY via its dedicated game store.

A heap of interesting AT&T rumors just came in. Reportedly, the carrier will start selling its first LTE handsets in December and the HTC Eternity, which first leaked a while ago, will be one of them.

Our tipster says that the WP7-running Eternity will be the only new HTC phone to come to AT&T this year, but it won’t be the only one to have an LTE radio. A selection of LTE-packing Android smartphones will launch alongside it in December, including at least one device from each of LG, Samsung and Sony Ericsson. Read more »

Not only is the BlackBerry Touch 9860 not officially available yet, it hasn’t even been properly announced. However this didn’t stop a prototype unit from getting listed on the Dubai ad site of Dubizzle.com.

Apparently, someone got hold of a prototype well ahead of its release and decided to earn some cash from it. The asking price is 5,500 United Arab Emirates dirhams, which equals about €1,050 or $1500. For that price you are only getting the handset and a battery and no accessories. Read more »

The Sony Ericsson Mix Walkman is a small feature phone with music-centric features and a thing for flashy colors. It also brings a fun, teenish design and touch of simplicity to the table which coupled with a good price tag could prove a winning formula.

It is, however, a sheep in wolf’s clothing in the aspect that it looks like the Android powered W8 but it is in fact a prettier Yendo – a dumb phone with no multitasking, a limited number of optimized apps and no flashy OS to flaunt in front of others. Still, it brings some notable improvements over the Yendo (the better looks aside) – it has a bigger 3″ display with a superior resolution of 240×400 pixels (over the 240×320 of the Yendo). Connectivity-wise it features Wi-Fi and finally in the multimedia department has e 3.15 MP fixed-focus camera instead of just a 2 MP one. Read more »

Now here’s an interesting concept for you – a smartphone that is able to change its weight-balance on command, giving you another way to interact with it and thus enriching the user-experience.

This idea was introduced by Fabian Hemmert, who used a moving battery on an axis to change not only the center of gravity, but also the shape of the gadget. Read more »

A few leaked blurry pictures revealed a still unannounced slider heading to Verizon. They are all about the Samsung SCH-i405, supposed to expand the Galaxy S II lineup later this year.

The SCH-i405 is an LTE-capable droid with a WVGA Super AMOLED Plus (possibly) display, a sliding-out hardware QWERTY keyboard, a 5 megapixel rear and a 1.3 megapixel front cameras and 2GB ROM. Read more »

The people at iFixit have gotten their hands on a Motorola Droid 3 and they have done to it what they do best; tear it down to pieces. Of course they are not savages and they have meticulously removed each component as they usually do.

The teardown reveals a SIM card, unusual for a CDMA phone, the 8 megapixel camera sensor capable of recording in 1080p, the TI OMAP 4430 SoC with 512MB of RAM, the SanDisk 16GB memory module and the 4.0-inch 960 x 540 display, among other things. Read more »
