Viber, the free application that allows you to make voice calls and send text messages to other users free of charge via 3G or Wi-Fi, has hit the 50 million user milestone.

The Huawei MediaPad came by our office and we took some time to get to know it better. Huawei is one of those manufacturers that are big, but not very well known. They seem to have created a top-notch product with the MediaPad.

The MediaPad is a 7″ Honeycomb tablet with an aluminum unibody. At 390g of weight and 10.5mm thickness, it’s lighter and thinner than the Amazon Kindle Fire. Read more »

The Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX looks so familiar, you can easily mistake it for its slimmer brother from certain angles. Aside its massive built-in battery and a change in the internal memory capacity, the newcomer in Verizon’s LTE lineup is identical to the DROID RAZR, which broke cover in November last year.

Quite frankly, I never thought that battery capacity will be the star feature in a high end Android smartphone, but, given my experience with a number of top notch devices from the past year, it makes perfect sense. After all, I witnessed several Android top dogs with massive spec sheets display battery performance, which puts their daily usability in question, thus forcing me to walk around with a charger in my pocket. Limited availability aside, the Chrome beta launch went as smooth as Google could have possibly hoped. Everyone who got a chance to take the new Android browser for a spin loved it and for a good reason. The Chrome beta is smooth, offers a cool UI and plenty of eye-candy and seemed to have the stock browser in its pocket.

And then you notice that it’s lacking Flash support. But hey, the stock ICS browser also missed Flash at launch and got it later, right? As it turns out, Chrome for Android won’t be as lucky and it will most likely remain without Flash support forever. Read more »

HP’s TouchPad made quite a stir with its wild firesale back in the summer of last year. However, some of the lucky buyers ended up with special versions of the tablet with Android running on it, suggesting HP are at work on an official Android port for it.

Since those special units weren’t supposed to end up in consumers’ hands and were shipped out by mistake, HP wasn’t obligated to make the kernel’s source code open source. Now, though, they did, giving the kernel source to the open public and specifically to the CyanogenMod 9 team. Read more »

The OneNote Mobile app has been available for some time now on Windows Phone and iOS but it has now finally arrived on Android as well. Functionality-wise it is identical to the iOS version. You log in to your Windows Live account and the app will sync all your OneNote items automatically. You can then also access these notes while the phone is offline.

The OneNote Mobile app for Android is free but like the iOS version you will only have access to all the features till the first 500 notes. After that you can only view, delete and sync your notes, unless you pay $4.99 to be able to create and edit notes again.

The OneNote Mobile app is now available worldwide for device running Android 2.3 and higher and can be downloaded from here.
