The Verge has discovered what are allegedly the images of the upcoming Kindle and Kindle Fire update. Let’s start with the Kindle Fire first.

Google has added a new feature in the Play Store application on Android that should appear automatically when you launch the app. You will notice there is a new ‘Recommended For You’ section right on the featured page along with other categories.
Clicking this category opens the Recommended Apps section, where you will find a list of a whole bunch of apps selected based on the apps that you have downloaded in the past and the apps that your friends have been +1′ing. Read more »
Much like just about every new tech product launched these days, the Samsung Galaxy Note II comes with a promo video. However, this time the folks at Samsung have decided to go away from the usual format. Instead, they have opted for a fully blown hands-on treatment of the latest Galaxy powerhouse.

Acer announced two new Liquids just days before the IFA kicks in. Also, the company just brough to the market its FullHD LCD-packing Tegra 3-powered Iconia Tab A700 Android tablet, so we just had to stop and see what those are all about.

The Archos booth was one of the stops during our tour around the IFA expo grounds and we got to see the newly announced Archos 101 XS slate in person and take a few live shots of the device.
The ICS-powered Archos 101 XS has a 10.1″ 1280 x 800 display and is powered by the TI OMAP 4470 chipest, featuring a dual core CPU and the PowerVR SGX544 GPU. According to the company it should get its Jelly Bean serving by the end of the year. Read more »
Sony brought so many new smartphones to IFA that we almost forgot about the Xperia miro. Almost. The handset was announced back in June and is expected to hit the market next month, but it was showcased at the company’s booth.
Specs-wise, the Xperia miro has lots of common internals with the Xperia tipo but offers two major upgrades – a 0.3″ bigger LED-backlit LCD screen and a 5 megapixel snapper. Thanks to the LED-backlit upgrade, the phone is also thinner and lighter. Read more »

The Samsung Galaxy Camera sure attracted a lot of attention, ours included. We got a chance to spend some quality time with the device and we did a couple of videos to give you a better how this new camera looks and feels.
Samsung has based most of the Galaxy Camera software on the Galaxy S III’s, but the camera interface is a bespoke solution. The menus heavily rely on spinners, which make them easy to use with your thumb – good thing since you don’t get any hardware controls on the back, you use the 4.8″ touchscreen for almost everything. At yesterday’s pre-IFA press conference, Sony mentioned that its new Android flagship – the Xperia T will be used by no one else, but Mr. James Bond. The sweet-looking Sony smartphone will be featuring in the upcoming Skyfall movie.

The Samsung Galaxy Note II promises to be the champion that resurrects the stylus – the second-gen phablet is way more powerful than its predecessor and has learned some cool new tricks. We shot a hands-on video of the Galaxy Note II to give you a sneak peek at some of the improvements.
We start off with a look at the S Note app and test the pressure sensitivity of the new Note II. It can distinguish between 1024 pressure levels, four times as many as the old one, and it shows. Read more »
