The Samsung Galaxy Note II is one of the most impressive droids out there and judging by our mailbox everyone was interested to know more about its its battery performance. Well, we are finally done with the tests, and we are now ready to share the results with you. The tests took a while to complete, for reasons you’ll see shortly.

Google has released updates for three of its Android apps today – Drive, Wallet and Play Music. And while Wallet and Music got nothing but bug fixes, Google Drive was treated to a really big update with tons of new features.

Drive for Andoird now sports some folder management tools, allowing you to filter folder contents by file type, create folders as well as upload and move files around them. Read more »

TomTom has launched its popular offline navigation app for Android today. Packing most of the features of its iOS counterparts, the TomTom Android app features spoken turn-by-turn directions in multiple languages as well as speed camera alerts and Traffic info.

On top of that, TomTom promises it’ll provide lifetime map updates, with at least four releases per year. It all sounds great, but there’s a catch – the app doesn’t have the greatest device compatibility. Read more »

Sony has launched the new PlayStation Mobile store for the PlayStation Vita and PlayStation Certified devices, which will let you purchase a game once and play across multiple supported devices.

The list of PlayStation Certified devices currently includes Xperia PLAY, Xperia arc, Xperia S, Xperia SL, Xperia SX, Xperia T, Xperia TX, Xperia V, Xperia ion, Xperia acro, Xperia acro S, Xperia acro HD, Sony Tablet S, Sony Tablet P, Xperia Tablet S, HTC One X, One X+, One S and One V. After keeping it in purgatory for a while, Judge Lucy Koh has finally lifted the ban on the Galaxy Tab 10.1. If you remember, the tablet was banned in the US court after it was found that the device was infringing upon the iPad’s design.

Later on, however, during the recent Apple vs. Samsung legal war, the jury decided that although the Galaxy Tab 10.1 was infringing upon several of Apple’s patents, the design patent wasn’t one of them. And since the ban was due to that particular patent, it would have to be lifted. Read more »

Great news for Android enthusiasts and fans of CyanogenMod 10, as its developers have added a neat feature allowing you to install the latest nightlies over the air in the latest build of the ROM.

This means flashoholics won’t have to go through the usual procedure of flashing CM10, but rather have the CM Updater take over the hassle. The OTA update feature is called CM Updater and is available only for stock CyanogendMod 10 releases. Sorry, custom ROMs. Read more »

Samsung has released a new, almosty eight minute long video to demonstrate all the new features on the Galaxy Note II. The video showcases the large display, the new multitasking options and the built-in applications that you can use with the stylus.

Bad Piggies is a complete departure from Rovio’s award winning Angry Birds series. After letting you play as the birds for almost three years now, you will now get to play as the pigs for the first time.

Following the footsteps of the well-equipped and affordable Pantech Burst, which we tried out earlier this year, the Korean manufacturer has decided to follow with an even better effort. The LTE sporting, AT&T exclusive Pantech Flex keeps the low price tag of its predecessor, but brings seriously solid specs to the table.

After ASUS started rolling out the Android 4.1 update for its Transformer tablets yesterday, Acer is now following up with a Jelly Bean update of their own for their Iconia Tab A700.

Several users from Germany and US are reporting receiving the update on the xda-developers forum. Most of them are reporting improved performance thanks to Jelly Bean. Read more »

The Samsung I9260 – purportedly the Galaxy Nexus 2 – is such a tease. We’ve already seen a couple of photos that were (perhaps accidentally, perhaps not) uploaded to Picasa and now there’s a new one.

ASUS announced on its Facebook page yesterday that the original Transformer Prime TF201 and the new Transformer Pad Infinity TF700T will be receiving the Android 4.1, Jelly Bean update shortly.

Now sticking to that statement, the company has started rolling out the update to the TF201, as is being reported by Engadget. As for the TF700T, it is yet to get the update but it shouldn’t be long before it too gets to enjoy some of the Jelly Bean goodness. Read more »
