HP announced today that it’s launching a refreshed batch of the 14-inch Pavilion dv4 and Envy 14 notebooks as well as a redesigned Mini 210 netbook. In addition to them, HP has also lifted the cover of two new EliteBook models for business users – the 2560p, 2760p and 5330m.

Let’s cut to the chase starting off with the Envy 14. This sleek looking 14.5-inch notebook is unsurprisingly getting some juicy Sandy Bridge processor options, high-speed USB 3.0 interface and HP’s imagepad which uses image sensor technology for advanced gestures. Read more »

Sony Ericsson announced yesterday its fresh newborns to the Xperia family – the Xperia mini and Xperia mini pro. In spite of being mini and cutesy, the two new phones are not exactly joking around and are here to be taken seriously, both sharing powerful 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 512MB of RAM and HD video recording.

Processor manufacturers are in this never ending race to produce faster and less power consuming chips for various devices and platforms. Whether it’s RAM or CPUs, we all like things to go quicker and be easier on our pockets.

And don’t worry, this trend will continue going for now. Intel has introduced a new 3D transistor design which will be implemented in the upcoming family of Ivy Bridge processors. As a result of this new 3D design named “Tri-Gate”, Intel will be able to produce smaller and faster chips which are going to be widely implemented from servers and desktop computers to laptops, tablets and mobile phones. Adobe has decided to step up its release cycle and now in addition to releasing a new version of the Creative Suite every 2 years, they will also be bringing a “milestone” version every 12 months. Enter CS5.5!

Apple has just updated their Apple Store with the refreshed line-up of iMacs to feature the new Intel Sandy Bridge quad-core processors. The update comes 10 months after the first-gen Intel Core i3, i5 and i7 family of processors were introduced to Apple’s all-in-one desktop computer.

On the outside its business as usual. The 2011 iMac comes in 21.5-inch and 27-inch flavors with the same IPS-LCD screens as its predessor. But there’s more than meets the eye here. With the Intel Sandy Bridge processors come new AMD graphics cards, ThunderBolt I/O port and a Facetime camera. Read more »

A couple of weeks ago CyanogenMod 7 was released and we all were very excited to get that little feeling of being updated to the latest version of Android. You know, that little fuzzy feeling of anticipation in your belly.

Since then, the CyanogenMod team has been hard at work to address many bugs that have been haunting some of the devices. Originally the update was supposed to be version 7.0.1, but last minute bug fixing and release polishing has made it go to 7.0.2. Read more »

After ASUS unveiled the Eee Transformer Pad and Motorola introduced the ATRIX 4G, now the widely infamous Kosmaz Technology want to take their shot at mobile convergence with the Compufon concept. While this isn’t really a great name to be honest, the Compufon aims to target the smartphone, tablet and netbook markets all at the same time.

Admittedly, the shots of the thing look impressive. Kosmaz has done a far better job at discretely integrating the smartphone into the netbook/tablet dock than Motorola did with the ATRIX 4G. The specifications, while nothing we haven’t heard of, are still impressive. Read more »

Samsung has just released a rather funny video ad of their flagship superphone, the Galaxy S II. The phone is set to launch in May for the UK and early June for the rest of the major markets, so we should see more and more videos like this from Samsung in the future.
