Plans for a cool Android Honeycomb tablet have leaked from the Lenovo secret layer. Basically, the Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet/Slate (they don’t seem to have settled on the name yet) is a 10.1” Android tablet powered by Tegra 2 and can dock with a keyboard (a la Eee Pad Transformer) and use a stylus (think HTC Flyer).

Finally, the HTC Sensation 4G (that’s the US version of the European Sensation) just got a specific launch date – 8 June.

The launch date for the Samsung I9100 Galaxy S II got moved around quite a bit but, for the UK at least, it has finally settled to 27 April from Phones 4u. If you pre-order sooner, you can score a free 8GB microSD card too.

There’s a beta version of uTorrent 3.0 out and it brings a couple of great new features along with plenty other improvements as well. The biggest change is the streaming capability – you can play music of video files before they are done downloading.

The BlackBerry PlayBook barely made it to stores’ shelves and already it fell into the hands of the guys over at iFixit and was carefully stripped to pieces. The guts of RIM’s shiny new tablet showed (almost) nothing surprising and scored a 7/10 repairability.

Nokia has given Ovi Maps a major boost in the eye-candy department of Ovi Maps. We’ve seen 3D buildings before, but Nokia and C3 Technologies collaborated to scan entire cities – down to the last detail – and produce “photo-realistic” models.

Samsung released the source code for the Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread update for the Samsung I9000 Galaxy S – you can grab it now from their Open Source Release Center (search for GT-I9000_OpenSource_GB.zip).

Some gadgets are for Japan only but that doesn’t mean we don’t want them – take this NEC MEDIAS N-06C Gingerbread droid for example. It’s not out yet, but pamphlets promise a really cool phone.

It has both performance (1GHz CPU with 512MB RAM) and rugged character (IPX5 and IPX7 certification). It’s just a bit thicker than its “world’s slimmest” counterpart, the MEDIAS N-04C, making other waterproof phones feel chubby… Read more »

Those birds are still angry, you know the ones I’m talking about. But it’s not because of lack of new content, features or platform support. Nope, Rovio is on top of that. Angry Birds will be celebrating a new Seasons edition soon, Easter, with 15 new levels. The birds will also be getting a syncing feature and will be landing on Windows Phone 7 in late May.

Microsoft is expanding StreetSide to Europe – that’s the Bing Maps equivalent to Google’s Street View. Microsoft is already mapping London and claims their service will be different from Street View in terms of privacy and scale.

Microsoft has partnered up with NAVTEQ (one of the big mapping info providers and a Nokia subsidiary) for this project, obviously one of the advantages of the deal with Nokia. StreetSide is already available in a number of US cities (and several Canadian cities) but now Microsoft has set foot in Europe. Read more »

Microsoft unveiled Internet Explorer 10 – they showed it off at the MIX11 developer conference, which started yesterday at Las Vegas. They did a demo, with Windows and IE10 running on an NVIDIA Tegra platform (with ARM processor). Yup, that’s W-i-n-d-o-w-s on an ARM CPU.

The first Platform Preview of Internet Explorer 10 is available for download. Wait, didn’t I just test IE9 last month? Alright, the bigger the version number, the merrier I suppose… You can ask Google, they’ll confirm. Read more »

The Ovi Store is growing – it now sees 5 million downloads a day, nearly 8 times more than what it did an year ago. The number of apps has reached 40,000 and that numbers grows by another 1,000 each week.
