At this year’s CeBIT (that’s the German abbreviation for World Center for Office, Information and Communications Technology) at Hannover Germany, MSI are announcing 4 tablets, one of which is an Android one. The WindPad 100A is the company’s first attempt at an Android slate and it looks promising.

Galaxy S 4G torn apart by the guys at iFixIt, looks as tough as the original

The Galaxy S 4G just got the iFixIt treatment. It was stripped off everything and revealed its secrets to the World. But it turns out that it’s pretty much the standard Galaxy S, save for the HSPA+ modem inside.

The Galaxy S 4G uses the ST Ericsson’s THOR M5730 HSPA+ Thin Modem for its so-called 4G capabilities theoretically reaching speed of 21 Mbps download and 5.76 Mbps upload. Read more »

The NEC Medias is the world’s slimmest smartphone, has a Gorilla Glass screen

Ok, it’s official: the NEC Medias N-04C is indeed the worlds slimmest smartphone as we suggested recently. Now we have the full specs of the device besides the record-breaking thickness.

Unfortunately, the NEC Medias is bound for Japan’s NTT Docomo carrier and we probably won’t see its face around our parts of the world. The Android smartphone should be released there in the middle of March.

The full Android 3.0 Honeycomb SDK is now officially out

The full SDK for Android 3.0 is available to developers and now they can start making apps for the tablet-oriented OS. The new APIs are ready and integrated and the SDK Tools are now at version r13.

This is great news for future owners of the slew of Honeycomb tablets released this year at the MWC, running Honeycomb. It means that pretty soon the new Android version will be getting specific apps in the Android Market.

We could see a 8.9-inch Galaxy Tab unveiled next month

Reportedly, a Samsung spokesperson contacted a Korean news outlet informing them Samsung will release a 8.9-inch Android tablet in the first half of the year. Following the official announcement of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, the manufacturer is about to unveil a smaller tablet, but still one that’s bigger than the original Galaxy Tab.

It seems there’s no stopping the tablet war from escalating.

Imagination Technologies announces Series6 PowerVR graphics – will be at least 20x faster than the current gen

You may not have heard of Imagination Technologies, but that’s because they don’t sell anything directly to consumers. What you should have heard is their PowerVR series of graphics chips for mobile phones. The iPhone 4 has one of these babies integrated into its custom Apple A4 platform, and so do a long list of other handsets such as the LG Optimus 3D, Google Nexus S, Samsung Galaxy S, Samsung Wave, Sony Ericsson Vivaz, iPhone 3GS, Nokia N900, Palm Pre, Motorola Milestone 1 & 2. Samsung Orion dual-core mobile CPU now called Exynos, production starts next month

Samsung just unveiled the official name of their much anticipated dual-core processor line-up. It turns out that what was once known as Orion will be the first processor in the Exynos line, a successor to Samsung’s own Cortex A8 Hummingbird SoC that powers the current Galaxy S.

The new CPU, called Exynos 4210, will be based on two Cortex A9 cores, each clocked at 1 GHz.
