On a dedicated event in Seoul today LG Electronics pulled the wraps off its global TV lineup for the 2015 model year. The company’s newly-adopted DUAL PREMIUM strategy plans to put LG in a leading position in the global premium TV market, while simultaneously expanding the upmarket segment as a whole.
The company is launching a range of OLED TV sets with 55″, 65″ and 77″ screens in flat and curved flavors.
Archos has joined The “Grand Digital for Schools Project,” which will do a trial run of equipping 50,000 middle and high school students with tablets and laptops. Next year the program will ramp things up to 1 million students.
Archos has unveiled devices – laptops and tablets with keyboard docks – in three sizes and three OSes – Windows 8.1 Professional, Android and even Chrome OS.
Samsung scooped Intel and demoed the first 10nm FinFET chip in the world. The company had previously made eMMC storage and D-RAM chips at that node, but FinFET is the first step towards a 10nm Exynos chipset.
Samsung is already at 14nm and will be making the Galaxy S6-generation Exynos chipsets at that node, along with Apple’s new chipset. Qualcomm meanwhile is building the Snapdragon 810 on the older 20nm process.
The Soy Xperia E4g tiptoed onto the stage, a 4G LTE version of the Xperia E4 that was announced just two weeks ago. Besides LTE, the new phone will have a slightly faster chipset and dual-SIM connectivity remains an option.

The original G Watch R was already a good looking watch and the first to have a proper circular display instead of a flat tire. But LG recently launched the G Watch Urbane, which improved upon the design of the G Watch R.
The G Watch Urbane has a stainless steel body that comes in gold and silver finishes. It also has a thinner profile and narrower bezel than the G Watch R, making it sleeker and more unisexual than the G Watch R. The Urbane comes with a leather band but it can be replaced with any 22mm band.
Google has announced that it is banning sexually explicit content on Blogger. According to the blogging platform’s updated adult content policy, starting March 23, the company won’t allow Blogger users to publicly share images and video that are sexually explicit or show graphic nudity. Previously, such content was allowed if the blog was marked as “adult.”
Google won’t actually delete any blogs featuring such content, they’d instead be made private after that date – private content can only be seen by the owner or admins of the blog and those who the owner has shared the blog with. “For any blogs created after March 23, 2015, we may remove the blog or take other action if it includes content that is sexually explicit or shows graphic nudity as explained in our content policy,” the search giant said.

You know we have reached peak political correctness when people start demanding ‘racially diverse’ emoji. But Apple seems to care about that sort of thing, so in the latest beta of iOS and OS X, you will notice that there is a new set of emoji, with a more racially diverse color palette.
Now, when you press and hold on any of the human faces in the People section of the emoji picker, you will get a popup with additional skin tones, six of them to be precise, from black to a rather absurd bright yellow, which seems more racist than racially diverse.
Last month, when Twitter rolled out its While you were away feature on iOS, it said that the functionality will arrive on Android (as well as the Web) soon. Now, the company has made good on that promise by making the feature available for users of Google’s mobile operating system.

Google’s innovative Inbox by Gmail will soon be available to business customers. Next month, The search giant will begin offering the solution to a “small group Google Apps customers.”
Administrators of Google Apps for Work will need to apply for an invitation to the program.

Microsoft’s Windows operating system, which is often criticized for its security issues, is no longer the number one as far as security vulnerabilities are concerned. According to latest data from the National Vulnerability Database (NVD), the OS is less vulnerable than Apple’s OS X, iOS, as well as Linux.

Uber has announced a partnership with a map-based mobile safety app – SafetiPin to focus on the passenger safety and launch a pilot project starting February 25 and will stretch for 5 months in New Delhi, India
Mobile security app SafetiPin’s trained security auditors will work with Uber designated partner-drivers to capture night conditions with camera phones mounted on vehicles. These security auditors will also collect location data based on nine parameters – openness, visibility, luminance, walk path, crowd, security, gender diversity and location density, to derive the safety score.
