HTC Europe is releasing today a firmware upgrade to the HTC Hero. It’s still not the eagerly waited Android 2.1. update, but it’s close.
The update released today is actually a preparation for the full Android 2.1 rollout, which should also wipe the full HTC Hero system memory.
Ok, technically, that heading up there might be a wee bit over-the-top but what I meant is that the just announced Sony Ericsson XPERIA X8 has already been featured in a series of live shots made by electronic publications from around the world.
The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X8 just went official and not a moment later, the Internet was filled with live photos of it, even a couple of previews. I’ve assembled a quick photo tour from these previews – especially interesting is the size comparison between the X10 mini, X8 and the big X10…

Today isn’t only the day when the iPhone 4 hits it off (sort of) but it’s also the birthday of the latest and greatest Apple Mac mini, which now comes in an aluminum unibody and packs an HDMI port and an SD card slot and is said to deliver up to twice the graphics performance. Oh, and it still is as sleek as it’s ever been. Prices start from 700 US dollars.
When a manufacturer tacks on a “Pro” at the end of a phone’s name, chances are you’re getting more or less the same phone as the “non-pro” but with a hardware QWERTY keyboard.
So, it should come as no surprise that the Samsung Galaxy S Pro, which is reportedly headed to Sprint, is a lot like a Galaxy S with a QWERTY keyboard. The Galaxy S Pro is reportedly going to be the second 4G phone for Sprint and the QWERTY-less Galaxy S is coming too… Read more »
Microsoft finally revealed all the details on its Xbox 360 motion control system previously known as Project Natal and now rebranded as Kinect. Yeah, I know, the new name doesn’t really roll off the tongue, does it?
I’m not into games, I just don’t have the time for them. But I would definitely give that Microsoft Kinect a try. Who wouldn’t?! Apparently, we’ll have to wait until November – this is when the thing is expected to arrive in stores nearby. Meantime you can take a look at some Kinect live images.
Microsoft wants to remind you and all of manufacturers that Windows XP sales will end on 22 October this year. After this date all netbooks must be sold with Windows 7 – probably Starter edition.

I was anxious to try out the iOS 4 on my iPhone 3G ever since it was announced so you can imagine how impatient I was to install the iOS 4 Gold – the final developer’s beta that was unlocked for installation to non-developer’s iPhones. Waiting until 21 June to get the final version was simply not an option.
Well, I was in for a handful of disappointments. I suppose those upgraders among you that don’t have an iPhone 3GS will feel the same.
Nowadays people are able to choose from a huge variety of applications for their mobile phones. But, as a recent survey reveals, the general preferences are actually similar and we go for the same apps. No matter what the platforms our phones are based on.

Nokia are currently doing a series of videos on the upcoming N8 and today they published the third and last one. Unfortunately, much like the second video we saw, it’s not what we’d call overexciting. They’ve somehow lost the momentum of the first clip.
But let’s not waste any more time. Head for the video to see how fluid is the N8 Album art video three and a half years after the announcement of the first iPhone, which pioneered it. Oh, and in case you didn’t know, you need an HDMI adapter to use a regular sized HDMI cable with your N8. Enjoy the show! Read more »
You may have heard me calling the iPad a “giant iPod touch” and while I still think it is exactly that, the way I perceive what it’s worth has started changing. And here is the next reason for that: the iPad-loving electronic version of the popular Time magazine. Who thought that e-books will get that far?
The most amazing thing about the Time magazine iPad app is not the concept behind it but the fact that it has been brought to real life. It looks almost unreal. Read more »
