Flash Player 10.1 final released to desktop, offers hardware acceleration to HD video

Adobe Flash Player 10.1 is now available for Windows, Mac and Linux. It offers better HD video playback and full graphics acceleration.

Unfortunately the graphic boost works only on Windows systems, while the rest of the platforms should wait a little longer.

The updated Windows version offers graphic acceleration of H.264 media and delivers better HD videos.

Flash Player 10.1 improves the overall performance on all three operating systems. If somehow you’ve skipped on the beta versions and the release candidates that have been available for quite a while, it’s high time you go get it. You will be impressed.

P.S. Here’s a good tutorial by Lifehacker on how to hack Flash player 10.1 final so that it outputs fullscreen Flash videos on a second monitor.
