Team HyperX has been working on a way to overclock Symbian phones for quite some time now and they’ve had a breakthrough. They are the guys that oveclocked the Nokia 5230 all the way to 800MHz, but this new patch reportedly works on all Cortex A8 based Symbian smartphones – good news for owners of Samsung Omnia HD and the latest Sony Ericsson cameraphones…
There has been plenty of speculation about the price of the Samsung P1000 Galaxy Tab – curious because it should be launching soon. Anyway, Vodafone Spain has a specific price and it’s not a wallet-buster either – 199 euro on an 18 month contract…
Now that was a press conference that will be talked about for quiet some time. Along with the official launch of the Windows Phone 7 OS, Microsoft and their partners revealed almost a dozen new phones to run it.
The WP7 launch event surprised us nicely with 11 new announcements
With the WP7 minimum requirements standing at the top of currently available technology there isn’t much to choose between all those new offerings. They all have 1 GHz Snapdragon CPUs, large WVGA screens and generous amount of RAM and internal storage. Read more »
Modu is back – their new Modu T phone marks a huge bump in the specs compared to the original model and revamps the concept of jackets with the new “fy” devices. It’s also the lightest touch phone in the world, says Guinness…
The wait is finally over. The limera1n iOS jailbreaking tool is here to make it rain again. The newly released software tool is still in beta but if you dare to give it a try it would jailbreak your iOS 4.1 iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPad, iPod touch 3G and 4G. However, you should know a few more things about it before you go for it.
Meanwhile, the greenpois0n, the other upcoming jailbreak tool that was due for a today’s launch, is getting delayed.
The Nokia N8 hit the shelves less a few days ago but the guys over at ifixit already gave it their disassembly treatment. The metal-clad handset has been given a rating of 8 (out of 10) for easiness of repair. Unless you need to replace the glass over the display (which requires a heat gun) you can tear the Nokia N8 flagship apart with nothing but a set of Torx screwdrivers.
And you would only need one such screwdriver to take out the standard BL-4D Nokia battery. It’s by far not that hard to change, despite the Finnish company claiming that it is not user-replaceable. Still this will probably void your warranty so you might do better taking your N8 to a Nokia service center if needed. Read more »
We are pretty sure someone in the Motorola’s US division screwed up big time uploading the DROID 2 Global info on the site before the official announcement. The page was removed almost instantly but most of the information has already escaped in the wild.
The successor of the Verizon’s DROID 2 – DROID 2 Global – is a dual mode CDMA/GSM device with slightly improved specs. It will pack the world’s first 1.2GHz mobile processor and will sport a redesigned QWERTY keyboard.
It seems Verizon’s latest DROID is going global. Don’t get this wrong, DROID 2 Global is still a Verizon-only device, it’s just capable of working on GSM networks too. Read more »

T-Mobile is going to extend its Wi-Fi calling service over some of their Android smartphones. The mobile app that would allow that will become available for select T-Mobile Android v2.x devices.
The guys over at Motorola couldn’t help but announce their latest Android-running smartphones hours before the beginning of this year’s CTIA Enterprise & Applications show, which takes place in San Francisco from 6 to 8 October 2010. Along with the GSM-loving Motorola BRAVO, FLIPSIDE and SPICE we get to meet two CDMA-compatible devices, the Motorola DROID PRO and the more affordable CITRUS.
There’s little doubt that Nokia N8 is a pretty great photography tool, but one feature it notably lacks out of the box is Panorama shots. Luckily the Finns are going to add that with a separate app that should hit the Ovi store soon.
In the sample above it’s incredibly hard to detect where the three stitches are (the panorama was created from four shots and measures 4306 x 1280 pixels at full stretch). Read more »
The Galaxy Tab was announced a month ago but details about it are continuing to surface. Take this one, for instance. The Froyo-serving tablet is packing a scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass. And this isn’t the only device in the Samsung lineup to have one of those. The Galaxy S (in all of its forms) features a Gorilla Glass as well.
Gorilla Glass is a thin but robust translucent glass that has a special coating making it not only easy to clean, but also heavy-duty resistant to the daily wear and tear.
Panasonic promised and it has delivered – it revealed the Panasonic Lumix phone today. But the news isn’t good (if you live outside of Japan that is) as the phone appeared on the NTT DoCoMo booth at CEATEC, so chances of it dropping into our hands are pretty much nil.
At least now there are photos to gawk at and a video that shows all the stuff we can’t have… Read more »

Its core will pack touchscreen, 3G, Wi-Fi, 2GB internal storage and microSD card slot. As usual the rest of the features will depend on the jackets that’s on top.
