The IP68 certified Sonim XP1300 Core is the new rugged leader (can swim with you, too)

Sonim announced today their most rugged phone to date – the XP1300 Core. It’s IP68-certified withstanding up to 2-meter dives, up to 2-meter high drops on concrete and it’s completely dust-proof.

Sonim latest tough phone features GSM network support, a 2-inch QVGA display with Gorilla Glass and reportedly *exceptional* sunlight legibility, FM radio and a microSD card slot. Its battery is capable of 18 hours of talk time or 800 hours of standby.

The IP68 and US MIL-810G certifications mean the XP1300 Core will survive a dive into 2 meter deep waters for 30 minutes, 2 meter face-to-face meetings with concrete and will resist any dust, shock and humid environment you throw it in. Temperature ranges between -20 and +55 degrees Celsius are also no problem for the XP1300 Core.

Sonim XP1300 Core will premiere worldwide this November. The US contract-free price is 399 US dollars.
