According to 27% of the people that took part in the latest Nielsen survey 4G is what the latest iPhone is called. True story!
With American carriers all keen to boast about their 4G networks to anyone who would listen, Nielsen decided to check how much people really know about 4G wireless tech. As it turned out 17% of the participants have never heard of it, while only 51% of the rest claimed to know what it means. Now that speaks volumes of the efficiency of those multi-million ad campaigns, doesn’t it?
And back to where we started, some 27% of the interviewed claimed that it was the name of the current iteration of the Apple iPhone. A new Android phone from T-Mobile was the answer of every 7th participant. Another 43% thought 4G stands for new devices that process data faster. Read more »

Samsung appears to be jumping on the Verizon’s 4G bangwagon too. Now, with the new 4G LTE-supporting Galaxy Tab, the Motorola Xoom won’t be the only tablet in the Verizon’s high-speed connected lineup.
Sammy also announced a Wi-Fi-only version of the tablet that should hit the US market soon. The specifications of the 4G Galaxy Tab are slightly improved, including a faster Hummingbird processor (now clocked at 1,2Ghz) and a new 5MP camera at the back. Read more »
Let’s give a warm welcome to the Dell Streak 7. The follow-up to the original 5-inch-screen Streak features a dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor ticking at 1Ghz. The device will be running on Android 2.2 Froyo with Dell’s custom Stage interface, until Honeycomb is launched later this year when it will be updated.
As the name suggests, the Streak 7 packs a 7” capacitive multi-touch display with WVGA resolution of 800×480 and Gorilla Glass for protection. Read more »

So many compact cameras are being thrown at us at this year’s CES that I’m starting to feel a little dizzy. Panasonic, just like the other major players in this game felt the need to introduce a large bag of digicams that are hard to tell from each other.

Nike and Casio demonstrated at CES 2011 their new watches aimed to make life a little bit easier on you. Prices and availability is still unknown, but they should surface soon enough.
With the help of TomTom navigation technology, Nike+ SportWatch GPS helps you track the calories you burn, how much time you’ve run, your location, heartbeat rate and also, well, shows you the time. Sony starts 2011 with the announcements of 11 new members of its Cyber-shot family of compact cameras. There’s a 3D-capturing shooter, four other full HD-recording point-and-shoots and six budget-minded snappers.
The star of the day is the 16 megapixel Sony TX100V. Built around a backlit Exmor R sensor, the TX100V is doing 3D still shots and sweep panoramas. Samsung unveiled the Sliding PC 7 Series – a 10.1” Windows 7 tablet/slider. It can be used comfortably as a tablet, but in fact the whole thing is one big slider. It’s an interesting take on the netbook form factor and it’s powered by Intel’s latest Atom platform (Oak Trail) aimed specifically at mobile computers and tablets.

DROID BIONIC is also based on the Tegra2 platform and utilizes a dual-core 1GHz processor, but it packs “only” 512MB RAM.
