Last year we reviewed the new Karateka game on iOS. It was a remake of the 1984 game that was originally released for the Apple II. The original game has a cult following and although the 2012 remake was a decent effort it didn’t quite have the charm of the original.

Now Jordan Mechner, the developer who created the original game and worked on the remake, has released a port of the 1984 game for iOS and Android. NVIDIA announced its project Shield handheld gaming console and the company released the full specifications and the pricing details just a few days ago. Now, the console is up for pre-order on NVIDIA’s website and you can also adopt the gadget from Gamestop, Newegg and Canada Computer.

Apple has reduced its orders for display panels from AU Optronics, the company that supplies the panels for the iPad Mini. The firm will now ship only 2.5 million to 2.8 million units in the second quarter, which is down from 4 million shipped in the first quarter.

Yahoo is the second most popular search engine on the web (according to Alexa.com) but has had issues in the last couple of years to stay relevant. Among its top problems is its aging demographic, which contributes to the company’s lack of coolness. Yahoo’s Chief Financial Officer Ken Goldman even admitted this, saying the company has to make itself cool again, something it “got away from for a couple of years”.

Sources, allegedly close to both sides claim that Yahoo has been in “serious” talks with popular blogging service Tumblr on some kind of a collaboration deal or even a complete acquisition. Tumblr has what Yahoo wants – the large user base in the 18-to-24 age group. Read more »

Fresh of its record-setting sales start of the Samsung Galaxy S4, Samsung is promising to address complaints regarding the low user-available memory of its flagship.

Archos announced its ChefPad a few days ago and now, the company has unveiled the 80 xenon, a slate designed with built-in 3G and Wi-Fi.

With the megapixel race fizzling out, Optical Image Stabilization seems to be the “next big thing” in mobile phone cameras. But it’s very rare – only two phones currently on sale have it, while the rest rely on digital processing to stabilize the image.
