Oppo has officially unveiled a new dark blue version of its flagship phablet, the Oppo N1. The device is now available in two color options – the original white and the newly introduced blue.
Apart from the new paintjob, the hardware specifications of the Oppo N1 are unchanged.
The rumor mill has been abuzz with talk of Microsoft’s upcoming virtual assistant, which will borrow its personality from Cortana (you know, from Halo). Now, Head of Microsoft Research, Peter Lee, has confirmed that the a “big focus” for the company is artificial intelligence, including a virtual assistant.

The PC market has seen some dark days the past couple of years, but it does seem to be on its way to stabilization. This isn’t any solace to 5,000 Intel employees, as the chip manufacturing giant will put them out of work this year.
Intel Spokesman Chris Kraeuter said, “This is part of aligning our human resources to meet business needs.”
The number accounts for about 5% of Intel’s entire workforce. The announcement may come as a surprise to many, especially since Intel’s revenue was improving thanks to a growing number of tablet sales.

We have had cases of testing the same device with different Android version, but the Oppo N1 is the first smartphone that we’re going to test with two completely different Android ROMs. The phone sells with either Oppo’s own ColorOS or with CyanogenMod 10.2 out of the box and you are free to change between the two later on, too.
Originally, we tested the Oppo N1 with ColorUI based on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. The 5.9″ smartphone did excellently, posting a 79 hours endurance rating. Now, it’s CyanogenMod’s turn with the perfect opportunity to demonstrate what its capable of when it comes to battery management.
It looks like the NSA scandal has gotten enough attention to warrant a serious response from the US Government. President Barack Obama has announced that all of the data collected through NSA surveillance will now be viewed by a third party. He has also announced that there will be an end to the collection of data “in-bulk”.
The third party that will be handling the public’s data hasn’t been revealed. In President Obama’s speech today regarding the matter, he didn’t exactly announce that there would be an end to the NSA’s surveillance of US Citizens,but made promises as to how the agency would go about collecting said data.

Nintendo President, Satoru Iwata has confirmed that the sales of it’s latest console, the Wii U, have failed to reach the video game giant’s goals:
“We failed to reach our target for hardware sales during the year-end, when revenues are the highest,”
The numbers are so dismal, that Nintendo has cut their projected sales figures 70% by the end of March.

LG G Flex owners have started reporting a bizarre defect that is plaguing the screen of the curved smartphone. Bumps have reportedly began to appear on the surface of some of the 6″ curved OLED displays.
According to a salesclerk at Yongsan Electronics Market in Seoul, who has spoken with KoreaTimes in a telephone interview, all LG G Flex smartphones he has encountered come with small bumps on the screen. LG has acknowledged the problem, which boils down to the elastic features of various components.
