Immediately after the iPhone 5s and 5c unveiling a theory was formed here at HQ and it was that Apple deliberately placed the iPhone 5c, removing the premium-feeling iPhone 5 with a thicker plastic phone, so that if you wanted the top experience you’d have to go with the more expensive, latest iPhone 5s.

And after two months of selling across the globe the numbers behind both the iPhone 5s and 5c seem to justify that theory completely. The iPhone 5c captured less sales compared to the iPhone 4S from a year ago, while the iPhone 5s outdid last year’s flagship by almost 10%. Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite specs confirmed by leaked manual

The user manual of a yet-to-be announced Samsung tablet has surfaced on the company’s website. Samsung’s Polish website has listed the user manual of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite with the model number SM-T110 that is said to be the Wi-Fi variant of the upcoming slate.

According to the manual, the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite will sport a 7-inch display with a resolution of 600 x 1024 pixels. The tablet will be powered by 1.2 GHz dual-core Marvell PXA986 processor and the Vivante GV1000 GPU. Read more »

Google has expanded the availability of its Nexus Wireless Charger to four new countries. The new markets include Australia, Japan, Korea and India.

Chrome update brings tab activity indicator, supervised users feature

Google has released a new version of Chrome (32.0.1700.76) for Windows, OS X and Linux that brings with it some useful new features, such as showing activity of multimedia status on tabs, supervised users and special mode for Windows 8.1.

We often have dozens of tabs open on your browser and then one of them starts playing a sound and we have no idea which one is responsible for it. With the latest update, Chrome will now show a speaker icon on any tab that is currently playing a sound, so you know where to go to mute that annoying sound. It will also show a red dot if a tab is using your webcam and a blue rectangle if a tab is casting to your TV connected to a Chromecast. Read more »

AMD boasts its next gen chip is better than Intel’s

If you’re a PC gamer, then you’re familiar with AMD’s line of processors. The company introduced the first dual-core chipset back in 2008 and has always been at the forefront of the CPU advancement game with quad-core and octa-core processors. Now AMD has upped the ante with Kaveri, a processor which offers ’12 compute cores.’

Here’s the Android gallery by the CyanogenMod team

It’s a well documented fact that the stock Android gallery isn’t the most feature-rich out there. Many have resorted to third party apps (like QuickPic and others) and now the CyanogenMod team has entered the conversation with its very own concept of what the gallery on stock Android should look like.

GalleryNext can be installed through the free-for-all community for beta testers, which can download the beta app on Google Play and begin testing. For now features include a gallery with cloud integration (Flickr, Picasa, Google+, Facebook and Dropbox), grouping images by Moments, video playback, GIF support (yay!) and more. Read more »

Sony has just announced the Xperia E1 plus its E1 Dual sibling, which adds Dual SIM support to the feature mix. The company has already posted the first promo videos of the two smartphones online.
