HTC Radar video ads surface, check them out

The HTC PR team just released the first batch of video ads for the HTC Radar WP7 smartphone, which was announced yesterday. So grab the popcorn, make yourselves comfortable and get ready to be treated to a few doses of Mango goodness.

HTC has identified four key selling points of the Radar and has dedicated a video to each of them. According to the Taiwanese company the main reasons to go for the Radar are its cool looks, its great camera, its spotless connectivity and sharing options and the great entertainment option it provides. [IFA 2011] Samsung announces special edition Series 9 laptops with crystals, here are the videos

Samsung continues with the announcements as the IFA 2011 rolls out for the public today. We just got word that the company will be releasing a special edition of their Series 9 ultra-sleek laptops.

There will be no changes to the internals of the netbooks, but their exterior will be available in two new colors, Midnight Blue and Luxury Rose Gold, in addition to the Black version that is already available. [IFA 2011] Toshiba announces the Portege Z830 series, claims it to be the lightest 13-inch ultrabook

Toshiba has announced the Portege Z830, a new series of ultrabooks (that’s Intel’s buzzword for ultraportable notebooks). The 13-inch model is only .63-inches thick and weighs just 2.45 pounds (1.11kg), light enough for it to earn the “lightest 13-inch ultrabook” moniker.

The Portege Z830 uses a sleek aluminum and magnesium alloy case, which makes it light as well as sturdy. Also, the thin design doesn’t come at the cost of connectivity options, as it still has two USB 2.0 ports, one USB 3.0 port, HDMI, VGA, Ethernet, SD card slot and a headphone jack. Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman comes by for a photo session, we don’t hesitate

With all the fuss around the pre-IFA announcements today we almost forgot to introduce you to a dear guests we had at our office. The Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman Android smartphone came by and while it refused to stick around for a preview, it at least posed for a bunch of live shots.

[IFA 2011] Lenovo outs IdeaPad A1 – 7″ Gingerbread tablet with 1GHz CPU for $199

If the recent TouchPad ordeal is any indication, people want cheap tablets – and Lenovo just showed the IdeaPad A1. It’s not a $99 tablet (cough, HP), but it costs the easy $199 and you get more than a discontinued product running an OS with uncertain future.

Instead, the Lenovo IdeaPad A1 is a 7″ tablet that runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread and offers specs very similar to the original Samsung Galaxy Tab, for example. The 7″ screen is an IPS-LCD unit with 600 x 1024 pixels resolution. Read more »

[IFA 2011]The Toshiba AT200, dubbed Excite, will be only 7.7 mm thick

Toshiba has announced the AT200 (Excite), which is reportedly the thinnest and lightest 10.1″ Honeycomb slate to date. It’s just 7.7 mm thick (the Galaxy Tab 10.1 is 8.6 mm) and weighs only 558 g (565 g for the Galaxy slab).

Among the other specs is Android Honeycomb 3.2, a dual-core 1.2GHz TI OMAP 4430 processor, 1 GB worth of RAM and up to 64 GB of internal storage. Read more »

Samsung has released two videos of the Galaxy Note smartphonlet. The first one is your typical music-accompanied promo video while the second one features YH Lee, Senior Vice President of Samsung Mobile Communications Business, Global Marketing.

Samsung introduced three new cameras at the start of this year’s IFA. We got the NX200 mirror-less camera with interchangeable lenses, the normal-to-wacky-in-3.5 MV800 compact and the WB750 superzoom.

We start with the most exciting of the bunch – the Samsung NX200. Not only is this the highest resolution camera in the EVIL (electronic viewfinder, interchangeable lenses) class with its 20.3 MP APS-C sensor, but it also packs a sweet sounding 3″ 614k-dot AMOLED screen on the back. Read more »

Samsung announced the Series 7 Slate PC – it packs new generation dual-core Intel processors, runs Windows 7 and puts an emphasis on sleek looks and a compact frame.

Not to be confused with the Sliding PC 7 Series, the Samsung Series 7 Slate PC packs a 11.6″ capacitive touch display with 1366×768 pixels resolution and 400 nits of brightness. The tablet comes with a Wacom digitizer. Read more »

Samsung showed off the Series 7 laptops, which will keep the Series 7 Slate PC company. The laptops come in 14″ and 15.6″ flavors and go up to quad-core Core i7 and to make sure the powerful CPU is busy, there’s an 8GB SSD cache for the hard drive.

Prices start at $999 and for that price you get a brushed aluminum body that’s under 2.5cm thick and weighs 2.29kg (for the 15.6″ model, the 14″ model is 1.95kg). Read more »

HTC Jetstream for AT&T, a.k.a. the Puccini, gets official, starts selling on September 4 for an absurd price

The HTC Puccini leaked enough number of times that we are now well acquainted with it. All that was remaining was for HTC to make it official, which they just have. The device will be launching on the AT&T network in the US on September 4.

Let’s go over the spec sheet again. The HTC Pucc… I mean the Jetstream will have a 10.1-inch, 1280 x 800 resolution display and will support for AT&T’s 4G LTE and HSPA+ networks. It will run on a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM8660 Snapdragon processor and Android 3.1 Honeycomb, with the Sense UI layer on top. Read more »

[IFA 2011]Sony announces HMZ-T1 Head Mounted 3D Display, makes 3D officially cool again

Sony has announced the HMZ-T1, a new Head Mounted 3D Display, which they like to call “Personal 3D Viewer”. It’s basically the equivalent of watching a 750-inch 3D TV from a distance of 20m, along with a pair of surround sound headphones, except this time it’s personal.

The crux of the HMZ-T1 are the two OLED panels. Each of these panels is only 0.7-inch in size and have a resolution of 1280 x 720, which gives them a mind-blowing pixel density of 2098-PPI. Read more »
