Minor update for Facebook Beta on Windows Phone is out

The Facebook Beta app for Windows Phone devices has received a slight update bringing it to version v5.2.4.1. The release brings some bug fixes and minor changes.

LG grabs 33 Red Dot awards, G Flex pronounced Best of the Best

LG is going to celebrate today, as the company took home 33 Red Dot product design awards, including two “Best of the Best” ones for the LG G Flex and Smart 3D Blu-ray Home Cinema system.

LG has managed to make its way to the top out of 4,800 entries at this year’s Red Dot Awards. Last year, the company had 27 of its devices recognized, with one “Best of the Best” award for its Curved OLED TV. Read more »

Assassin’s Creed Unity shown off in new teaser

Ubisoft has announced the latest game in the long running Assassin’s Creed series of games, Assassin’s Creed Unity. The game is arriving later this year on the PS4, Xbox One and PC.

The video gives a quick look at the visuals of the game by showing some of the environments and a sneak peek at the main character in the game. The game will take place in Paris during the French Revolution featuring an assassin named Arno. The video looks like it’s in-game and is absolutely fantastic but you never know if the final game will look this good, especially on the consoles. Read more »

LG unveils Smart LED Bulb, works with iOS and Android

LG has unveiled its first ever smart LED light bulbs. Called the LG Smart Bulb, it’s able to connect to Android 4.3+ and iOS 6+ devices using Wi-Fi, allowing you to control it from your smartphone or tablet.

The LG Smart Bulbs are low wattage with LG claiming they’ll run for more than a decade. The company has also baked some interesting features in the software controlling them. One of them is a security-oriented and turns the light on when you’re not home. Read more »

Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet goes on sale in the UK

Sony announced its latest flagship tablet, the Xperia Z2 at this year’s Mobile World Congress. Back at its press conference, Sony did mention that the device would hit the shelves in March, but there was no official word on how much it would cost.

Apple contemplates on-demand music streaming service, iTunes for Android

Apple is considering new ways to takes its iTunes music collection to users, and also to some new users. According to the sources at Billboard, Apple is considering releasing a on-demand music streaming service that will compete with Spotify and the new Beats Music service. Apple is currently in talks with senior label executives regarding this move.

Christian Bale being considered to play Steve Jobs in next biopic

According to a report by The Wrap, Oscar-winning actor Christian Bale is being considered to play the role of the late Apple CEO and co-founder Steve Jobs in an upcoming biopic.

The screenplay of the movie is written by Aaron Sorkin for Sony Pictures Entertainment and is based on the book ‘Steve Jobs’ by Walter Isaacson and will be directed by David Fincher. Sorkin and Fincher have previously worked together on the biopic on Mark Zuckerberg’s life – The Social Network. Read more »

Twitter kills #music service

About a year ago, Twitter announced their #music service that allowed users to stream music from the dedicated #music iOS app and follow your favorite artists on Twitter.

After a lukewarm response from users and prolonged lack of development on the app side, Twitter finally announced that they are killing the service. The app has been pulled from the App Store and those who downloaded it will be able to use it till April 18, which is when the service completes its first and final year. Read more »

Nokia officially protests Tamil Nadu tax claim
