Rockstar starts Grand Theft Auto III, San Andreas and Vice City sale

Rockstar Games is celebrating the 10th anniversary of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and is offering San Andreas, Vice City and the original GTA III with a big discount. The deal is available for iOS and Android through both the Play Store and the Amazon Appstore.

The mobile version of GTA III launched in 2011 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the PC version and later in 2012 Rockstar released GTA: Vice City, again to celebrate its 10th birthday. Read more »

Google has updated the majority of its apps with Material Design looks to prepare them for the Android 5.0 Lollipop launch and the Calendar is one of the best looking. It features beautiful artwork for each month and now these backgrounds are available for you to download as wallpapers.

Meizu seeks 5000 MX2 and MX3 owners to test Flyme 4.0 on their phones

Via its official Weibo account, Meizu is gathering 5000 beta testers with MX2 and MX3 smartphones to run a beta build of Flyme 4.0.

Currently, the Meizu MX2 and MX3 are running Flyme OS 3.8.5A, but hopefully the sooner the company cleans out any bugs Flyme 4 might have on those devices, the faster it releases it. Read more »

“The iPhone 6 Plus bends in your pocket!” This sort of titles are still fresh in our minds and now more Apple products have launched – the new iPads. So, will the super-thin Apple iPad Air 2 bend? You can probably guess the answer but someone recorded the test on video to the tune of €490 (at least I’m hoping he wasn’t using a 64GB iPad for this).

Popular image editing application for OS X – Pixelmator – was announced for the iPad back at the iPad Air 2 launch event. The app is now available on the App Store and can be purchased for $4.99.

Pixelmator on OS X is a full fledged image creation and editing application. It can do most of the things that you can with Photoshop but at a fraction of the cost. But most importantly, it is beautifully made and works seamlessly with the OS as if it’s a native app. Read more »

Sony SmartWatch 3 now up for pre-order at Verizon

Sony’s first smartwatch to run Android Wear, the SmartWatch 3, is finally up for pre-order – yet just at Verizon of all places. It’s already been listed in the Play Store, but you’ll only be able to get it from there at some (still unannounced) later point.

Amazon Fire TV is out in the UK

The Amazon Fire TV has become available in the UK today. This comes right on schedule, as October 23 has been the announced release date for the UK ever since the mega retailer started taking pre-orders for the box last month.

To get a Fire TV, you’ll need to agree to part with £79 of your hard earned cash. The game controller for the Fire TV is sold separately, and it’s priced at £34.99. It’s available to order too. Read more »

ABI: Chromebook shipments expected to double this year

The Chromebook may have gotten a slow start but is experiencing a continued period of growth. Shipments in Q3 increased by 67% compared to the previous quarter and are on track to double year-over-year, according to analyst firm ABI Research.

The analysts draw comparisons to the short-lived explosion of netbooks but say that a cost effective laptop that’s versatile and functional is something consumers want. Read more »

Samsung talks about the Galaxy Note 4 and Note Edge design

Samsung designers have opened up about the Galaxy Note 4 and Note Edge design for an inside look of how Samsung’s latest flagships came to be. The fourth generation, say the designers, is focused even more on the combination of digital (the flagship specs) and analog (the S Pen experience) and aims to deliver a “warm and emotional” design.

The addition of a metal frame was done at the request of users but the designers were against adding metal for metal’s sake. Read more »

Microsoft launches Kinect adpater for Windows 8 and 8.1

Microsoft is enabling Kinect owners to use it with Windows by launching today a special adapter for PCs. It makes the Kinect fully compatible with WIndows 8 and Windows 8.1 PCs and tablets with identical performance to the Xbox One.

The new Kinect adapter only works with the newly announced Kinect SDK 2.0. It allows developers to create third-party apps for the Kinect and upload them to the Windows Store. Hopefully, we get to see some cool new uses of the gadget apart from making voice commands and playing fitness-oriented games. Read more »

The first Avengers film cashed out amazing – it had great reception and started the true Marvel revolution in both cinema and TV. After The Avengers Marvel released quite a few successful sequels on the big screen, but it also secured Agents of SHIELD and Agent Carter prime-time series, courtesy of ABC.

Microsoft makes a lockscreen app for Android

Microsoft is on a roll these days… making apps for Android. Made by the same Microsoft Garage division that brought us this comes the new Next Lock Screen.

As you can tell from the name, it’s a lockscreen app. It presents notifications on the lockscreen similar to the way Android Lollipop does. You can see them at a glance or swipe them away. But more than showing notifications, the lockscreen also shows relevant information from your apps directly on the lockscreen so you don’t have to go hunting inside the app. Read more »

iFixit tears down iPad Air 2, gives it poor repairability score

Hot on the heels of the Apple iMac with 5K Retina display, iFixit tore down the iPad Air 2. Cupertino’s full-size tablet received the poor repairability score of 2.
