Sony SmartWatch 3 now up for pre-order at Verizon

Sony’s first smartwatch to run Android Wear, the SmartWatch 3, is finally up for pre-order – yet just at Verizon of all places. It’s already been listed in the Play Store, but you’ll only be able to get it from there at some (still unannounced) later point.

The wearable is priced at $249.99 over at Verizon’s online store, and it’s due to start shipping by October 30.

The Sony SmartWatch 3 is the first Android Wear device to feature a built-in GPS sensor. Otherwise, it’s a pretty similar package to the smartwatches we’ve already seen from Sony’s competitors this year.

It comes with a 1.6-inch 320×320 transflective touchscreen, a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, and a 420 mAh battery. It’s IP68 certified, meaning it brings dust and water resistance to the table too. And it charges using a standard microUSB port.
