We reported couple of days ago that Apple will be holding an event on October 23 for the iPad mini. That information came courtesy the sources at AllThingsD.
Now Reuters have chimed in as well, confirming the exact same date for the next Apple event. The information comes from sources ‘familiar with the matter’. The sources did not mention what the event will be about exactly but it is fair to assume that it will be about the iPad mini. Read more »
Lately, it’s been quiet on the iPad Mini rumors side. When 10 Oct, the rumored invitation day, came and went, we started worrying that previous rumors have let us down. While this may be the case indeed, not all is lost, as new rumors suggest the announcement event has only been moved to October 23.

The rumor mill is going wild with gossip about various Nexus devices – from an LG-made Nexus phone to a new 10″ Nexus tablet. The rumor claims the new tab will have a killer screen, better than even the one on the new iPad.

Microsoft will be holding a special event in New York on October 25, where it’ll officially introduce Windows 8 and the Windows Surface tablets.

Sony has launched the new PlayStation Mobile store for the PlayStation Vita and PlayStation Certified devices, which will let you purchase a game once and play across multiple supported devices.

As is usual with these things, Apple has so far been mum on all matter related to a possible iPad Mini. A new rumor however claims that the company is gearing up for an iPad Mini announcement event in a but more than a two week’s time.

After keeping it in purgatory for a while, Judge Lucy Koh has finally lifted the ban on the Galaxy Tab 10.1. If you remember, the tablet was banned in the US court after it was found that the device was infringing upon the iPad’s design.
Later on, however, during the recent Apple vs. Samsung legal war, the jury decided that although the Galaxy Tab 10.1 was infringing upon several of Apple’s patents, the design patent wasn’t one of them. And since the ban was due to that particular patent, it would have to be lifted. Read more »

After ASUS started rolling out the Android 4.1 update for its Transformer tablets yesterday, Acer is now following up with a Jelly Bean update of their own for their Iconia Tab A700.
Several users from Germany and US are reporting receiving the update on the xda-developers forum. Most of them are reporting improved performance thanks to Jelly Bean. Read more »

The Sony Xperia Tablet S left its Sony HQ home to spend some time with us. It carries over some design elements from its predecessor, like the 9.4″ WXGA screen and fold-over design, but it adds goodies like a quad-core processor (moving from Tegra 2 to 3), thinner aluminum frame and IPX-4 certification (splash proof).
The Xperia Tablet S is 8.8mm thick along its back, with a thicker “fold” on top. This makes the tablet easier to hold in the hand and is used to attach the tablet to various accessories. Read more »
