After mocking iPhone fans in general and then returning to tout the 4G LTE feature of its Galaxy S II smartphone, Samsung is back again with the third installment of what is now clearly a series of ads.

In the latest ad Samsung talks about the iPhone users sticking to iPhones for the fear of ‘giving up’ all their music and movies whereas Galaxy S II owners have nothing to worry about because all of their music comes from the cloud and that they have tons of other places to download their movies from. The Nokia Lumia 800 battery test just finished and we are rushing to bring you the results. Everyone with any degree of interest in Windows Phone certainly has the Finns’ flagship on their shortlist, so we figured plenty of people will be interested to see how it did.

Coming with a 1450 mAh battery and a WVGA 3.7″ screen, the Lumia 800 started this test in a slightly more favorable position than its Nokia N9 sibling. The MeeGo flagship features the same battery, but its screen is 0.2″ larger and has 54 pixels higher vertical resolution, so we’d expect the Lumia 800 to do better. Read more »

Ever since Apple released iOS 5, a lot of its users have been waiting for an untethered jailbreak to come up. Well, it appears that the long wait is about be over as we got a video from the Chronic Dev Team that demonstrates a working untethered jailbreak solution.

The French hacker going by the name of ThePod2g announced that he found a bug that could be used for the jailbreak about a month ago and now he and his team have already found a way to utilize it. Read more »

The new Bada flagship, Samsung Wave 3 S8600, is the next smartphone that we made jump through the fiery circles of our battery test. As this was the first Wave to take on our new test, we were quite interested to see how it would fare.

Coming with a 4″ WVGA screen, a 1.4GHz Scorpion CPU and a 1500 mAh battery, you would expect the Wave 3 to be no better than average. However, much to our amazement, it turned out to be the second best performer we have seen. Read more »

Another letter of the Galaxy alphabet has come to visit us today – the Galaxy W a.k.a. I8150. It sits in the middle (size-wise) between the entry level Galaxy Y and the high-end Galaxy S.

A group of Chinese hackers who go by the name ‘CD-Team’ have created a working iteration of the iPhone 4S‘s well known voice assistant, Siri. Since the inclusion of Siri on the iPhone 4S, hackers have been trying to modify, hack or in some way manipulate the underlying coding so that the unique service can run on other iOS-endowed devices, but as of yet, we haven’t seen a successful release.

This latest solution only currently works on the iPhone 4 and the iPod Touch 4G with a jailbroken version of either iOS 5.0 or iOS 5.0.1, so if you were hoping for some Siri action from your iPhone 3GS or your iPad 2, you’re going to find yourself waiting a very long time. Read more »

The LG Nitro HD for AT&T Wireless is the second smartphone with an HD screen to take a run on our battery test track. Touch smartphones and tablets are all the rage these days, but there’s no denying the fact that working with them intensively makes a real mess out of their fromnt glass panels. Some manufacturer apply some kind of smudge-resistant coating to their screens to make cleaning easier, but it’s not a perfect solution.

Google and Australian telecommunications company Telstra have joined forces to launch the world’s first store dedicated to Android. Called the Androidland, it’s not just a place to buy Android devices but also where you can experience all the different features in the OS and just enjoy yourself.

There is a lot to do in this Android-themed store, decked in the traditional Android green color. You can play Angry Birds on a giant touchscreen display, Androidify yourself or check out the world on a massive display using Google Earth. They have even gone as far as to have a gingerbread scent in the store and a grass scent where there is grass. The mythical creature known as the Verizon Galaxy Nexus has been spotted in the wild and much to the surprise of its spotters was found running some Verizon apps. As you may know, the Nexus phones have been known to come with a stock ROM from Google with nothing but Google’s own applications installed. The Galaxy Nexus will be the first to break this tradition and have some bloatware courtesy of Verizon, tarnishing the name of the Nexus brand forever.

Ever since Google announced the Galaxy Nexus and along with it Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, those of us with a Nexus S have been salivating at the chance of getting it on our own devices. Unfortunately, Google did not give any official date as to when the update will be made available for download.

It seems now, however, that it won’t be too long now. A Google employee posted on Google+ that he got the Ice Cream Sandwich on his Nexus S and that ‘it’s looking great’. The update was later on deleted from the site but you can see a screenshot below. Read more »

Apple had filed for a preliminary injunction against Samsung in the US court to block the sales of the Galaxy devices. Unfortunately for Apple, the court has declined to grant the said injunction, which means Samsung can continue to sell their devices in the US. However, the legal war between the two companies is far from over and Apple could still swing this to their advantage.

As it happens, the reason Apple failed to get an injunction against Samsung is that Apple could not prove to the court that Samsung infringing on their patents could cost them irreparable damages. Read more »
