Samsung could stop making netbooks – focus on ultrabooks from 2012

In an alleged email sent to its partners Samsung reportedly expressed the intention to stop making netbooks and focus on ultraportables (11.6″ and 12″) and ultrabooks starting from Q1 2012.

Samsung hasn’t officially confirmed this yet and the information comes from French site called Blogeee, so take this information under advisement. Read more »

FXI squeezes a dual-core chipset into a USB stick, lets you turn any monitor into an Android device

HP launches new Folio 13 Ultrabook, refreshes the Envy and Pavilion dm4 range

After nearly spinning off their PC division and then deciding to keep it HP is now back with a bang with three new laptops. First, they launched all a new Ultrabook because that’s what all the cool kids are doing these days. It’s called the Folio and according to HP it’s the first business Ultrabook, offering the best battery life in its class.

The Folion 13 has a 13.3-inch, 1366 x 768 display with an Intel Core i5-2467M processor, 4GB of RAM, 128GB mSATA SSD, USB 3.0, a backlit keyboard, six cell battery and HP’s CoolSense technology. Read more »

Nvidia’s new Tegra 3 is the next big thing in the world of mobile processors and has everyone excited. But looking away from its impressive spec sheet, we know little of what it’s really capable of. So to give us a little demo, Nvidia has put up a series of videos on YouTube and we’ll be taking a look at some of them.

First of all, here is a look at the way the five cores function on Tegra 3. Although it is advertised as a quad-core system, there is a fifth companion core designed to handle less intensive tasks. ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime becomes official, packs in quad-core Tegra 3 and a 10-inch display

We have been hearing a lot about the Transformer Prime. First ASUS chairman Jonney Shih displayed it at AsiaD, then some more live shots surfaced, then came the FCC images, after that the benchmarks and the last we heard of it we found out that it will be delayed and coming in December instead. But now we finally have the official announcement that we have been waiting for.

The NVIDIA’s co-founder and CEO Jen-Hsun Huang has confirmed the upcoming quad-core Tegra 3 platform will be officially called Kal-El.

Kal-El is the Kryptonian name of Superman and Jen-Hsun Huang confirms the next Tegra names will be also from the comic world – like Wayne is from Bruce Wayne a.k.a. Batman, Stark is Iron Man, etc. Read more »

ASUS teases us with next version of the Transformer tablet [VIDEO]

ASUS has posted a brief but intriguing teaser video of the next generation Eee Pad Transformer tablet. The slate is rumored to be powered by the mighty NVidia quad-core Kal-El platform and will most probably be running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
