Square Enix has finally ported its game – Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light – on to Android. We reported that this game is coming to Android way back in September last year, when it was supposed to arrive in November but it took nearly a year to get released. Meanwhile, the iOS version has been selling since last year and even the PlayBook got it in April.

Like we said back then, this version of the game will be exclusive to the Xperia series of devices for a limited time. Also, not all Xperia devices but just the Xperia S, Xperia ion and the Xperia PLAY. Every other device will simply show up as incompatible on the game page. Read more »

Nexus 7 users trying to install Instagram on their shiny new tablets would until now have gotten an unsupported device message. Lucky for them, they don’t have to wait for long as Instagram has already issued an update that adds support for Google’s newest tablet.

Even though in an early stages of development, CyanogenMod 10 is gaining speed. First, it was the LG Optimus 4X HD running an early preview and now we’ve got the Samsung Galaxy S II I9100G’s CM10 ROM.

Recognized developer Codeworkx has successfully made a CyanogenMod 10 based ROM for the I9100G, which however isn’t recommended as an everyday driver for inexperienced users. Read more »

Hours after it officially started making its way to customers in US and UK, the Google Nexus 7 got its first OTA update. It’s a pretty minor deal, the download weighing in at under 1MB and it takes just seconds to apply.

As you would expect from such a minor file, it brings no major changes to the user experience whatsoever. So far, the only differences spotted are some extra info in the “About” screen in settings and the change in build number from JRO03C to JRO03D. Read more »

Carbon is a Twitter app for Android that has been in the works for quite some time now. It’s counterpart for Windows Phone was also released back in February. Now although some may blame the fact that the app is still not out yet despite being teased for months now on the slow development, the fact is that the developers were actually waiting for Google to allow them to submit paid apps in UAE, which is currently not possible.

Unfortunately, that did not happen so now instead of waiting any longer the developers have decided to go ahead and release the app on the Play Store for free on July 22. Read more »

After the wildly popular Angry Birds series of games, developer Rovio is back with a brand new game for iOS and Android called Amazing Alex. The new title involves creating Rube Goldberg apparatuses and solving puzzles.

The game is based upon the popular The Incredible Machine series of games for Windows desktops. This is what you have to do: every level has several fixed objects arranged on screen in a particular order. You also have extra objects available at your disposal that you can place at various points on the screen. The goal of the game is to use all of these objects to set off a chain reaction and move certain objects to a designated position. Read more »
