HTC officially confirmed that the One (M8) features benchmark score-boosting High Performance Mode. The word arrived hot on the heels of yesterday’s story about the inflated AnTuTu scores of the Android flagship.

It was going to happen eventually, but somewhat surprisingly it has happened before the actual market launch. The Samsung Galaxy S5 has undergone the teardown treatment. This time though, it wasn’t executed by iFixit, but Russian tech site Ferra.

Nevertheless, the teardown revealed all of the Galaxy S5′s internals. According to the person that did the teardown, the screen is quite tricky to remove and you have to heat the phone quite a bit in order to get the glue holding the display to melt and let go. Read more »

Yesterday, Microsoft finally announced the Office suite of apps for the iPad, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. But along with the new announcement, Microsoft also made a quiet change to its existing Android app.

Just like its iOS counterparts, the Android version of the Office Mobile app required an Office 365 subscription to actually be used to create and edit documents. Thanks to evleaks we can take a first glimpse at the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0. Samsung’s fourth-generation 7″ tablet sports a look similar to the Galaxy Note 3. It sports the classic three button configuration under the display, too.

The HTC One received the lowest ever repairability score that iFixit has ever given a smartphone – 1/10. So, how did the new One (M8) do? it’s a massive improvement as the score has doubled to… well, 2/10.

NVIDIA has revealed that Valve will be releasing an Android version of the highly popular Portal game for the NVIDIA SHIELD console. Although you could play the game before on your SHIELD by streaming it from your PC this is a native Android version that probably won’t look as good but can be played anywhere without the need for an internet connection.

What we don’t know for sure if the game will be available exclusively for SHIELD, for other Tegra devices as well, on all Android devices or also on other platforms such as iOS. Read more »
