Dropbox has just brough some good news to its Pro customers, doubling the available storage for the Pro 50 and Pro 100 plans. This means that if you subscribe to one of these you will get your 100GB and 200GB of storage, respectively, for the same price as before. Even if you are already a paying Dropbox customer you still get your quota doubled.

And if that still doesn’t seem enough to you, Dropbox announced the launch of a whole new plan offering 500GB of storage. It will set you back $49.99 if you choose the pay monthly option or $499.99 for a whole year if you pay in advance. Read more »

Google has released a new OTA update for the Nexus 7 tablet, which was so far running an early version of Android 4.1 that was installed on the devices provided at Google I/O.

The new update bumps the version number to 4.1.1, which is the same version that will be rolled out to other Nexus devices this month. There is not much known about this update other than the fact that it adds support for Google Wallet. Read more »

Microsoft has announced today that the Windows 8 development goes according to schedule and shed some more details on the actual market availability of the platform.

It was iFixit that first tore down the Nexus 7 tablet and as a result we can now see how much money Google is making from selling the device itself.

For the 8GB model, the margin is pretty slim (if it exists at all) as its parts were estimated to cost $184 while it sells for $199. By using a custom Kernel module, some XDA developers members have managed to overclock the Krait CPU cores of the HTC One X (the one available on the AT&T and Rogers networks) to 1.8 GHz.

This makes the MSM8960 SoC about 20% faster and the Kernel is applicable to any rooted One X, based on Krait, without the need to unlock the bootloader. Read more »

Well, this can’t be more far from the truth. There are many people out there, who make a living off persuading you they represent a well-established trademark – such as ours. Since we have a wide global reach and you never know what sort of a scam you might stumble into, we thought we should give you this heads-up.

We don’t sell phones, tablets, computers or related equipment and we have no plans on opening a retail or wholesale store for those.

The Kindle Fire has been quite a success thanks to its humble pricing and the might of Amazon’s online store, which puts the tablet front and center on the homepage of the world’s most popular online store. But it’s been seven months now since it’s been on sale and by now Amazon should be working on a successor. The fact that Google just launched a rival in the form of the Nexus 7 and that Apple might be working on one as well means that Amazon cannot afford to rest on its laurels.

Fortunately, it hasn’t. According to a report by AllThingsD, Amazon is planning to release the successor to the current Kindle Fire some time in Q3, this year with the announcement coming some time in the second half of this year. Read more »
